Why would we play as the assassin from the first game people. It seems like nobody is even considering the games storyline. My guess is that we play as another of the main characters ancestors. Also I would like to have some of the action take place in the modern day part of the game.

What a great and creative way to promote a game. companies should do more secretish stuff like this.

I think there will probably be some kind of device on the heros back. if you look at the IFSP picture then it looks like the hero has something that looks like folded up wings on his back. and Upgrade might mean having 2 hidden blades instead of just one like in the first game.

Anatomy most likely relates to Leonardo's research on anatomy. This could just relate back to the time period of Leonardo though.

Why do GR keep mentioning that the main character ever could have been Altair, we've known for ages this game was gonna be set a few hundred years in the future of the first so Altair will be LONG dead. I always figured you'd be playing one of his descendants.

If you play as a new character in a more recent time, then surely you'll be a younger assassin. You know like in hollywood movies where the new guy is loaded down with gadgets and the veteran just gets the job done with nothing but a butterknife and a toothpick. Just makes sence.
Also while writing this i had a thought. If Splinter Cell Conviction is still going ahead with the crowd stealth similar to AC, then mabye Ubisoft are trying to steer AC2 toward the old Spy vs Merc. or mabye not.

I have one theory which is way out there but i'm still going to let everyone know:

With all this mention of Da Vinci's works, maybe art is the focus of the next game, perhaps the game will have a level in and around a huge art gallery, like the Louvre. And it would make sense to have the wing thingies because the Louvre is such a massive place.

Yeah it's strange, but what doesn't happen in video games nowadays?

I'm excited for this game but can only hope that the annoying bitch that kept asking me for money in Israel didn't follow me to Venice.

Woman had no idea I was trying to "discreet" and "secretive" what with me bristling with knives. All the cool monks wear knives.

Also, the drawings of the hands may have less to do with Altair being in the game or not and more to do with giving "hints" that da Vinci is the artist that created the blades and crazy bat wing contraption.

Being an artist, da Vinci was well known for sketching hands (since they're so hard to draw) and being left handed, he'd sketch his right. And both hand sketches on the trailer are of right hands.

@Thanoruk: I reckon there's going to be something a little more freelance this time, or at least with a smaller cult or organisation, seeing as this is nearer to the present day than the last one, and smaller organisations/cults/whatever seem more shady and elusive

plus, that could give us some speculation as to who/why your working for/with

Swimming would definitely be an improvement
Flying? Eeeh... not so.
Mainly because what made Altair seem so cool was that he made brilliant jumps and daredevil parkour without any special equipment. Giving his replacement equipment is like showing someone how to kill with their bare hands, letting them do that for a while, then giving them an RPG

And on the Da Vinci subject, I reckon that it is implying that he has designed the blade(s) and may even be part of the assassin/templar conspiracy (reference to ealier note)

On "Upgrade", i think it might simply be talking about the standard of weapons available, but i hope its referencing the possibility of buying/customising your weapons.
On "Fly", I think it may be linked to upgrade, as you may be able to buy/use/make some more projectile weapons, like a crossbow, perhaps?

God i hope this doesnt fall foul to its own hype.....

guys theres a way to decode the words. someone on the forums cracked it. its actually very simple.

efubi becomes death. look at the letter that comes before, so E is D, F is E ect.

ifsp is hero

and vqhsbef is upgrade!

ok those just pointing out 2 those of u who think ul be playing as altair thats not going 2 happen as that would make him over 200 years old if set in 15th century. u could still possibly play as desmond on the other hand as he is a desendant of the assasins clan and whos 2 say he cant be the heir of 2 great assasins.

Awesome. All the DaVinci stuff is perfect for a game like this, and I can't wait to run around 15th century Italy.

well although this wuzn't much 'revealed' cuz i kinda figured almost all of wat u guys said..... but anyway u guys gave enough info to satisfy.... and didn't a guy really try flying while strapping wing-like things to his arms and jump off a cliff and die in the Da Vinci period
Smeggs  - 7 months 22 days ago
Here is my guess
Death: Yeah, you kill people...and I guess you could alos be considered death.

Hero: A pic of a guy from behind with all his fingers, so not Altair.

Upgrade: Either the wristblade you now actually have built up into your arm, or possibly upgradable weaponry.

Anatomy: 99% sure its talking about the way those wrist blades are built up into the guy's arms.

Fly: I swear if Ubi fails on the idea I'm having of pulling a hawk soaring-glide across a city I'mma be more than angry. Just think, after you kill a guy when you run from gaurds, just climb a high wall and "WHOOSH!" you're all the way across the country before they can even yell "THERE HE IS!"

Also considering Desmond obviously had a CRAP-TON more ancestors since the 1100's, I'm pretty sure that it'll just be the next on after Altair, possibly his son and or apprentice.
