SSX Tricky (PS2, 2002)
Taking the brilliance of the original SSX and making it better in every area was a masterstroke. It may not have been a true sequel, but the game was so refined, it could have been labelled sugar and sold in supermarkets.

The score-attack mode featured pick-ups dotted around the courses. Maximizing the effect of these with the Uber tricks was essential for gold medal-winning runs. With a control method simple enough for anyone to be able to attempt an Uber trick, yet deep enough for masters to lose days and days to it, this is an essential purchase. More varied than Tony Hawk's over-used system, the SSX score attack still feels exciting... and like you're a god when you do it perfectly.
