first game ive ever owned was Sonic 2... that hedgehog pretty much introduced me to gaming... but something hapened to him and sold himself like a whore to the masses... maybe until 2010
Playing Sonic Adventure for the first time at a demo booth in a Sheffield cinema.
My jaw hit the floor!
I'd seen the pictures in the game magazines at the time but nothing prepared me for how amazingly fast and crisp it looked compared to the blurryness of N64 and the fuzzyness of Saturn/PS1 games.
The first gaming system i ever got was a sega pico (it was an video game system made for younger children) the games were these interactive books u plug in and flip the pages to change screens it had a touch pad and stylus that translated to a cursor on the screen. Me and my brother loved that thing to death. the best game was sonic the hedgehog gameworld. i played that forever as a young kid. the most memorable moment was when my twin brother and i broke our Pico by stuffing the cartridge slot full of pennies and quarters. we were just like "hmm... i wonder what will happen if we do this" and it broke. we were so sad. i'm not sure how long it took, but our parents eventually bought us a new one, but we were almost at the age where the games were too childish. i still playd sonic the hedgehog gameworld anyway though
finally beating streets of rage on Genesis for the first time after owning it for ten years. Now that was awesome. My brother and i played it like crazy the first three years we had it and still would bring it out often as the years passed by but never ever beat it until finally a few months ago my friend and i beat it (he had a genesis and loved streets of rage too) that and bomberman were awesome.
Like many, mine was figuring out how to get past the first loop-de-loop in the first Sonic the Hedgehog on the first level. I tried on about 5 separate occasions to do it, until I realized I had to hold right after about 10 minutes of pondering it. Man, did I feel stupid...
Having sex with a dreamcast and giving birth to horrible sega-human creatures, then killing them all with a double barreled shotgun. And really really enjoying it.
I didn't own a Dreamcast. My friend had one but we rarely played it and when we did I would always ask to play the same Sonic game but I never saw past the third level, for we didn't save or anything.
Opening title screen of Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Obviously not the best game, that's number 2, but it was that same opening once that made me feel like everything in the world was ok again
Probably when I first got my Sega Genesis bundled with Sonic 2 for Christmas, when I was six I think. I loved Sonic right away, except the second level pissed me off alot back then with the whole drowning stuff
I never owned a Sega system up until the Dreamcast, but all my friends had a Genesis. One time I went over to one of their houses and, using some quick info I learned through my dial-up internet, triggered the Sonic 1 debug mode while he was out of the room and claimed I was playing a new game. He believed it.
I have a lot of fond Sega memories. My favourite console of all time is Sega Saturn. I remember loving Guardian Heroes soo much I'd keep playing after I broke my thumb playing soccer.
Spending two nights researching and downloading illegal software to make my PSPs game opening video the Saturn opening.
I actually have at least 10 dreams a year which is just finding Saturn games really cheap and buying all of them.
Shelling out 120 bucks for Guardian Heroes and 100 for Dragon Force. I regret nothing.
