Ive still got my N64 and the game I still get a kick out of is Killer Instinct Gold. I was absolutely terrible at it when I was younger but I have become like a dojo master at that game. The theme tune is immense, the characters are insane and the voiceover guy is a legend.
Some of the best are: JAGO, ULTRA COMBO and C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
I wish Rare could somehow develop KI3 :(
My all-time favorite N64 game is probably Buck Bumble. One bee in a world filled with other insects all battling for supremacy. It's a flight simulator, but also a FPS. The one part of the game that truly stands out are the two multiplayer modes. It includes a Deathmatch mode(with several levels) and a "buzz ball" mode, featuring bees wielding rocket launchers to score goals in a massive soccer field. Overall, it was a great game but bashed by critics for bad graphics. Nonetheless, it was THE cartridge that lived in my N64.
Star Fox 64 of course! Why do you think "Do a barrel roll!" or "Use the boost to get through!" are so popular on the internetz? For the longest time my brother thought Slippy was a girl...No matter how many times I pointed out that he wears clothes not usually worn by female characters, his voice screamed " I'm a sexually confused" in his mind...so I assume. I still remember his reaction when he realized that slippy was getting married to a female frog in SF: Command...priceless.
This is easy question. I still play a few N64 games today but Starfox64 is my favorite by far. I was playing it two days ago. “Sector X” is my favorite level, I LOVE the silly Monkey Gundams. “Katina” Is my second favorite level, because it’s very Independence Day. I Loved this game so much that I made a Clay Arwing and Landmaster 10 years ago. The Arwing has long been destroyed but I still have the Landmaster.
Majoras Mask it's just my favourite zelda game. Everything just seemed better the story, the new gameplay with the masks and the timelimit the bigger but fewer dungeons proper sidequests and so on. When my parents sold my N64 I was devastated so when I got a gamecube the first thing I bought was the zelda collectors edition specifically for majoras mask
My favorite N64 game by far is Star Fox 64. My cousin and me were like 6 at his house and started playin it one day, so it was my first game. We probably played it for like 50+ hours trying to beat the "hard" path and even though the graphics havent aged well you can still say "Do a barrel roll!" or "Use the boost to get through!" any time anyone asks how to do anything on a video game.
JetForce Gemini was awesome, too. My friend brought it over, the multiplayer was awesome and it was a really good shooter. Definetly one of the overlooked greats on N64 that needs a modern sequel. Then the other day i saw it for $3 at gamestop. Best $3 i ever spent...
I never actually owned a N64, but my freind had one and since it was right at the peak of Pokemon popularity, we played Pokemon Stadium to death. In fact, when I saw him again last summer after I moved, he still had it.
I would have to say my favorite N64 game was Goldeneye followed closely by Star Fox 64. Goldeneye was the only game I went through and unlocked everything on for the N64. I remember unlocking all the cheats and finished it on every difficulty.
It has got to be Goldeneye 007 because it set the standard for 1st person shooters. That and it really helped me virtually shoot my sister without having a run in with the law.
Definatly Paper Mario. It's actually my favorite game of all time. It's the first RPG I had ever played, and one of the only games I can still go back and enjoy as much as I did.
By far the game i spent the most time playing while i had a N64 was wave race. Everything from the realistic water physics to the awesome stunts you could pull off drove me insane back in 96. I still play the game every once in a while and it is the only cartridge i still own from my long gone collection of N64 games. Not only did it blow me away, but it also helped me bond with my dad as we tried to beat each other over and over by finding new shortcuts and strategies at each turn. One of the most original and polished titles by Nintendo, too bad i cant say the same for the sequel.
banjo tooie hands down. it was the first game i ever bought and i cherish it today. it was the game that tought me how to read, and the amount of stuff you could do kept me interested untill the gamecube came out(which was about 2 years). that game remains my top played game of all time and my favorite game of all time. it is the game that got me into games.
