It's gotta be perfect dark for me. I'm not saying it's the best game for that system but I would say it's one of them. Definatly holds the fondest memories for me aswell. All my mates had it so who evers house we we're round at that was usually the game we ended up playing together, and the multiplayer in my opinion was better and more varied than Goldeneye... there again I was a bit bias since I didn't have Goldeneye, and it's been a while since I've played either game. Used to spend hours and hours playing multiplayer on my own in perfect dark... just fighting bots. Speeking of which I think I'm guna go dust my N64 down and see if it still works.
007 GoldenEye. No question. Just getting your friends over and murderizing them was the greatest thing ever. Plus the Aztec level was so creepy for the time. And, for the record, Oddjob was the cheapest character ever.
GoldenEye. I dont remember a bigger jump happening in gameplay, graphics, and technology all in from one game. Arguably the only good game based on a move.
well it would either have to be sin and punishment or lylat wars, i found them really addictive and a lot of fun despite being short, to this day i still play them. i also cant wait for sin and punishment 2!!!!
I'm going to have to say Super Smash Brothers. This was one of the games I remember getting with my brother, and one of the few that he actually plays. We played that game like crazy, and we do to this day. I still think it is far better than melee or brawl, for it didn't have the wave dashing and fast pace of melee or the mayhem-inducing, "What the heck is going on? I can't see my character!" items and attacks in brawl. Not to mention brawl's stages where there are lots of changes. No, the original smash was simple. There was only one gimmick per stage, the items were fair, and you could tell where you were and what you were doing. The original has a more competitive atmosphere in my mind. And I still adore it. (although I would like Link's up B to be better...)
1080: snowboarding
I played it with my friend when i was 4 or 5 years old and we both loved crashing and tried to crash as hard as we could so we could watch a funny replay. Sweet memories...
ok, I Freakin love Zelda OoT, Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye..........but strangely i think the game i stuck the most time in to was the insanely hard body harvest! so many modern games have taken inspiration from this game (Halo, GTA 3, Earth defence force! to name a few), yet hardly anyone has ever heard of it!
'Banjo Kazooie' was and still is obviously the greatest game ever, the music, enemies, story, moves you learn and level design were awesome.Zelda OoT has to be second because it it the best zelda game out there, Blast Corps was also cool.
But looking back i do not think super mario 64 is that great anymore or was as great as people say.
your right i enjoy GT games for racing. oddly enough i have a 360 but podracer is still one of my favourites racing game that is only beaten by mario kart 64 (another of my favourites...i could go on forever)
NFL Blitz 2000. I absolutely loved that game. At that time, I didn't care so much about "realism" when you could hit people in the face, jump on top of the downed ball carrier, even light yourself on fire if you did well enough. That's just awesome. Of course, it helped that the game wasn't too complex. Might not have been as deep as most football games, but if you're looking for depth in this kind of game, I have a bridge to sell you.
Honorable mentions should probably go to Mario Kart, Goldeneye, and Major League Baseball featuring Ken Griffey Jr. Almost enough to make me wish I had my N64 back.
Easy: WWF No Mercy! Me and my buddies played that thing religiously after school, imho the single best wrestling game of all time. A classic war I'll never forget: Kurt Angle (me) vs Chris Benoit (homie D) in a No DQ match. Every facet of the venue was visited, pixelated bodies were beaten, chairs and tables destroyed, it was a half hour long battle, and it was the most satisfying loss I have or will probably ever suffer. If only they'd put it on Virtual Arcade instead of some lame NeoGeo game!!
