oh, without a doubt, fallout 1 & 2. I've got a cat's paw tattoo, and saving up for an enclave tattoo. Still whenever there's a newsfeed with pictures of bombed out cities, a part of me goes "mmm, fallout". pretty scary.
me explaining the entire stroy and everything in the universe about the gkitch in the system gam. also wen i got on my bus 2 school and told off some kid who said the ps3 was better then 360 by explaining everything from the games and internal processors and parts to the graphixs card. i sat down and realized i was the biggest geek in my school.
The game i geeked out over was spore, i read every newsletter watched every preview video, I even downloaded the simulation software they put on the spore site. Then when i played the game i was so disappointed that I haven't talked about it since it came out :(
i dont geek out over games but when i learned a crono trigger on ds i was omg i have to get but i bugged my mom all day to take me to the store so i could get it with the poster
I totally geeked out over the Romance of the three Kingdom series until it got out of hand. When I played ROTK II for genesis i fricking ran to the library to borrow historical books on china's history that the game based itself on and learned as much as I could about every possible general and storylines. In the end I became such a snob of the actual historical lore that I became resentful when made up generals appeared and eventually led me to shun the Dynasty warriors series (probably a good thing) as it seemed to be barely based on historical fact.
This is more of an answer to how the question was posed during the podcast as pertaining more to a gaming moment and not so much to a particular game. The geekiest videogame moment I've ever had, is that one day I went through the trouble of downloading a podcast about videogames off the internet. Then I registered a username at the same site so that I could answer a question about what my geekiest video game moment was.
the game i geeked out the most about was probably super smash bros brawl. i want to the website every day for new updates and every time i learned a new thing about the game i would tell my friends about like "OMG DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN STAGES IN BRAWL" and they didnt really care i was freaking out about it when i seen the trailer for it :D. i want to my grandma's house and at 12:00at night we left to got to the mall and gamestop was the only store open I COULDENT WAIT FOR THE GAME than when i finaly got it at like 1:00am my g-ma took me back to her house and i was up untell like 8am and i passed out because i was up so, then i want home and called my friends to come over to play SSBB!!!! ;p
actually skipping my first few classes the day the new Pokemon diamond and pearl game came out to buy myself a DS and a copy of Diamond. When my friends asked me where I was that morning I told them I was on my way to becoming a Pokemon Master for the 5th time.
I would have to say the last game that I got really geeked out for was Left 4 Dead. It was also one of my biggest disappointments of last year. I was all pumped for it before it came out and was telling all my friends about it. Then it actually came out and only two of my friends ended up getting it. And they never played it online. I then quickly realized that the game is down right boring with the AI and 95% of people online are as useless as a box of rocks. So I have not touched it since the month after it came out.
the halo series by far. im still nerding out over ODST, my friends even tell me to chill out when i get ODST on my mind but i just block them out to think of more ODST. i was stupid enough to buy the legendary edition of Halo 3 too. i know when i beat Halo 2 i was so pissed with the ending i literally tossed my controller across the room. and yes i bought halo wars just because it had the name 'halo' on it (but it was actually a good game). to this day i wonder why i still have friends lol :D
