Definitly Square Enix, I love all their games (that I've played) I own a majority of the main FF series, the whole Kingdom Hearts series including Re:Chain of Memories for PS2 and Chrono Trigger DS, FFIV and FFIII DS, and have been waiting a year and a half for FFXIII. Gawd I need a hobby....
It wasn't really being hyped up at first for fable 2...but i decided to just blow off 60$ and get it since i heard it was awesome...when i started playing it (and i've never played the first fable) i was so hooked i didnt get out of the chair until i beat the game literally, i was in that chair playing from start to finish, from 11 am that saturday morning to 4 am sunday morning.
i was stuck on grand theft auto 4 on some mission (i cant remember what it is just now) for ages. after a while i belived that everyone else was stuck on it too so i kept playing it over and over again thinking that if i completed it i could tell everyone i knew how to do it and then be worshipped by them as the best gamer ever. after i eventually completed it i was very proud of myself and started telling everone about how to complete it "hey tom you know that gta level i know how to complete it" "so do i" "all you do is ___________" " i know i have competes the game" "then ________" "i goddamn competed the game" "then, hey listen this is the hard bit __________" "f*** off i completed the game" when it eventually dawned on me that no one cared and everyone completed it i was very sad.
When playing sapphire, I spent the whole day trying to catch the legendary pokemon Rayquaza. When I eventually caught him, I jumped around the house screaming IN UR F***ING FACE!!! at my gba.
Is it normal that i have been playing pokemon pearl for over 250 hours
Most definitely the Fallout games, specifically Fallout 3. I've played that game for around 250 hours since I got it a couple months ago, which is probably about 4 times as much as I've played any other game. I found a way to relate everything in a conversation to something in Fallout 3 to the degree that MY GIRLFRIEND OF 3 YEARS BROKE UP WITH ME. Example: we were in the theater watchin "Up" and, when they mentioned Paradise Falls I leaned over to her and said "That's the name of the slaver camp in Fallout 3!" She broke up with me when the movie was over, saying she'd finally had enough. I wish I was kidding, I wish that was an exaggeration, but it's not. So, yeah. Good times with that game. I still play it, by the way. Just started up a new game.
Mine wasn't actually over a game. For about two years I obsessed over the PSP. I read everything there was about in my magazines and online and when I ran out of articles I would go back and read them again. I even got this little cardboard "actual size" PSP cutout which I used as a bookmark in my magazines. And when I finally got one (I had to wait until Christmas because I suck at saving money) I realized there were not very many games I was interested in. To this day I've still only got three games for it, but I still play MPO (and I have the original one not the slim).
I got to the the point with Team Fortress 2 where I knew practically every detail about the goddamn game. For example, the Scout has 7 brothers and his mother still retains her figure, the Medic's Oktoberfest taunt was originally removed because it resembled drug use too much, and the only class to have a known home is the Sniper, who lives in a camper van? (Only after typing this has it dawned on me that I'm incredibly sad.)
I geeked out on SSBM when i was 6. I would use Marth's taunt in real life, I thought I was Marth. All of my geeky friends also had a character, such as Falco, and said the same phrases. Thank God I am in puberty right now.
The only geeky thing I have ever done involving video games, is to scream at it or the people I am playing against. Doesn't it just piss you off when your playing Madden and they choose the same play every time and score, or when they take a nap when its they're turn to play defense and get an interception? I hate beginner's luck with a passion.
For me it would have to be as soon as I heard that gears was coming out I realised that i din't have all the cog tags on gears 1 so I completed it about 10 times in one day in an attempt to find the 30th tag... several months later I realised it was the VERY first tag I was missing :(
@recaptcha: lots cholera
I have been addicted to a lot of sh*ty videogames, such as X-Men Legends, Pokemon cards and games, and mario party games. But never as addicted to SSB series. In Melee, for example, I danced this stupid dance and yelled, "te gane, mua" to anybody i defeated. Result: get the living crap kicked out of me by 3 other equally addicted Nintendo fans
Probably FFVII a few months ago when i found a copy in my local game shop. Me and my friend ended up squabling over the game who was going to buy it. Then a week ago when i tried to explain to my fellow peers that the game (which i had just brought off psn) was not jsut some crappy ps1 game. Then they tried to say that cod5 was a better game, I was against the whole class so in the end i just sed fine then and then printed off 20 reviews of ff7 and cod 5 and handed to people.
As soon as I learned that Miyamoto annouced Pikmin 3 at last year's E3, I was filled with joy nerdily. I was really disappointed when they didn't have any news about it at E3 09.
I got really excited around the release of Spore. I thought it was the coolest idea ever, how you can make your own animals and control them. I would have played a similar game or another game made by Maxis but i didn't have any. I just ended up downloading the creature creator and making a ton of animals. I even convinced one of my friends to buy it when it came out. Unfortunately for him his computer didn't have enough memory and he didn't know enough about computers to solve the problem. The morning it was released my dad said to me "I just read this article about a game where you make animals and roam around until you become a tribe and I gotta tell ya it sounds like the worst idea for a game I've ever heard. Do you know about this?" Then I replied "Yea I have, it's called Spore and can you take me to GameStop to get it later?"
I eventually got it and installed it on my computer, unfortunately I have a laptop that is not very fast and to play it I must set all of the graphical settings as low as they can get and it still lags for a while when it starts up. I have never been able to finish it but I recently started playing it again.
Shin Megami Tensei games bring out the ultimate geek in me, and I only started with Persona 3 back in 2007. I love to show these games to my friends, tell them about what was in them, and show off the games in my house. (I have the Digial Devil Saga 1+2 (Serph and Sera) game boxes standing up side by side for instance.)
I guess the ultimate geeky thing I did was I was having one of my friends come over and I reached a boss in SMT:Nocturne. I immediately stopped playing once the battle started and sat there for about an hour navigating menus and listening to the song. Once my friend arrived, I started the boss fight to show him the game, because I knew he wouldn't stop me during a boss fight.
