I Always stayed away from movie games until recently when I played Wall-E. That game owes me $50 for my controller, $70 for my window, and $125 for my neighbor's cat's medical bills (because it was hit by the controller).
Well, I can't say I hate all movie games; I've played some good ones, from Indiana Jones to Madagascar. Those were good. But the first, and worse movie game I ever played (and I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!):
E.T.
I swear! I was in 2nd grade at the time, it was the late 80's (that shows you how old I am) and the computer lab had an old Atari. After about 2 minutes I couldn't figure out what the point was, so I went back to Oregon Trail.
minority report, i got it on my 13th birthday because my parents thought it was fitting that i get a T rated game. little did i know that the game was a steaming pile of monkey. send me stuff.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on ps1. SO MUCH LOADING TIMES!! And those damn washing machines that you had to lift...repeatedly! To this day I still duck if I watch a Harry Potter movie and they say "Wingardium leviosa" in case dirty laundry hits me!....
Actually no...I lie..to this day I have a soft spot for that game. I liked it and it was the first game I ever completed! :)
So I guess I've completely ignored the question you were asking...sorry!
My first movie game was Spider-Man 2 for PS2, but that was a good game, so whatever movie game I got after that (I think it was Spider-man 2 for the DS LOL) was the movie game that made me hate movie games (although TF2 might be a good movie game, according to my multiple sources)
The A Bug's Life game has a bunch of tokens you're supposed to collect for bonuses. The first level teases you with one you can't immediately get to, so naturally you assume that you just get it later at some point. But then you never actually go back to that version of the stage. It's the biggest, most poorly-designed cocktease in history, and I hate Traveller's Tales forever.
Finding Nemo for PS2, so poorly designed, so frustrating, and so downright terrible (about 40% of the game was this terrible on rails "follow the rings" crap), it's a candidate for worst game I ever played. What did I do with the copy? Extra firewood.
Terminator on the Game Gear. My god, was I disillusioned. This game takes the idea of infinitely respawning enemies, and then beats it WITH a dead horse. Seriously, dudes are literally always pouring out from the right side of the screen. I couldn't get past the first level.
Shrek. Agggh, bad idea to try it, even if I liked the first movie while it lasted. Of course, I'd like to blame my brother; he was/is a die-hard fan of Shrek (is that possible?!?!)
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for PS2. Absolutely HORRIBLE platforming/craptastic gameplay with only 6 levels. And it cost about just as much as any full priced game, if I remember correctly. Either way, it was just horrible... -_-
The Chronicals of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. 1st boss fight is when you (by you I mean you control each of the four children) have to take down a minitor. During this battle each child has to do something different to the monster. Peter first had to chop at his knees, then lucy had to jump on his back etc, yet there are not hint text messeges that show up on the screen and other that the music, there is no noice comeing out of the tv. now if you wonder why that is the first bad movie video game i played, i played the Lord of the Rings games, and the Spiderman games. those games were good video games based on movies.
