if i had to go with a game though i would say sonic 1, 2, and 3. i played those like crazy when i was 5-8. but now when i try to go back and play them i just find them immensly BORING! i honestly think that if i had been introduced to those games at an older age like 13 i would've hated them. and all the recent sonic games suck too, so... i just don't like sonic (except sonic heroes was alright)

Pokemon. I used to love everything about Pokemon. The cards, the show, and definitely the games. I lost my interest in the show and cards, and finally I realized how juvenile the games were too. But it did serve as my first taste of both games and RPGs, and for that I thank you, Pokemon.

Three (Red)Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One (Red)Ring to rule them all, One (Red)Ring to find them,
One (Red)Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Yeah, the darkness of not palying for a month of two you bet;)

When I was younger i rented this game called Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for N64. I loved it and eventually got it for christmas. In my mind it was almost as good as Ocarina of Time. (Almost...) I was bored one day and decided to bring out my N64 and play every game i owned for it. I blew through Zelda and Mario and saw this game again. I played it and it was so bad that i put away my N64 immediately and questioned why i liked it in the first place.

I used to love Halo 3, until I realized that there were other shooters available once I moved to the 'states.

I've got to say it was the pokemon handheld games that I used to love but now can't stand. It's not that there bad games, It's just that there all the same freakin game. Every time a new pokemon came out, I expected some sort of expansion. You know, like more than 8 gyms, more than 1 island to explore, or upgraded and more in depth gameplay. No, I don't want to just explore Kanto, not just Johto either, I want to explore the whole Pokemon world, not just 1 island per game. Not only did every pokemon game have the same number of gyms, but the same stereotypes were used for the gym leaders in each game. And the designs for the Pokemon went completely downhill with each game. Some of the newer pokemon showed some style, but the mass of stupid pokemon like Skuntank, Burmy, Bidoof, and the worst of all, Staraptor (emo bird) and Rotom (it turns into a freakin lawn mower and a refrigerator), outweigh any appreciation I had of the pokemon designs. the Ruby and Sapphire generation had pretty good designs, but the Diamond/Pearl Generation made me hate what pokemon has become and made me hate how low the series has fallen to.

The Sims 3, Loved it when I first got it but because of the newest patch, it always crashes whenever I start it up. And all because I got a couple of mods for the game, It really pisses me off.

For me, its dragonball z budokai 3, I LOVED this game as a kid, spent hours of playing, then 5 years later i pick it up again and its just repetitive fighting where you can win by just spamming the finishing move over and over.

I imagine this could be a common response but... Halo. I got the first game and couldn't stop playing it, got the second couldn't put it down. Got the third, got live, it controlled my life for a good month. Then my live stopped working so I kinda just stopped playing Halo for a while, and then later when I decided to try it again, I didn't like it. And I now see the overhype that people constantly complain about. I'm probably the also the only person who enjoyed the campaign more than the multiplayer >_>

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Now I know what you are thinking, or at least what I am thinking and hope you are too, LOTR TTA wasn't a bad game at all. I perosnally enjoyed it on the GC as my first ever GC game, and have since beaten it 13 times and still hold my number 5 spot in best RPG's of all time. But no sir, I am talking about the Fire emblemesk GBA version. I would play that game until the (I think I can spell it like this and it still be funny) Wii hours of the morning. I actually picked it up and played it agian about 2 weeks ago, and IT IS AWEFUL. I don't know how it played it for so many hours all that time ago. I actully first got it thinking it was just like the PS2, Xbox, and GC version but was mistaken.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I played that game to death as a kid. I picked it up years later and realized how bad it was. And how annoying Shadow was. What pisses me off the most was that back when I somehow liked this game, I spent most of my time in the Chaos Garden playing those abysmal Chaos minigames.

Sonic Adventure 2:Battle. I loved that game when I was in middle school. I thought the gameplay was a fantastic 3d rendition of old Sonic style, I thought Shadow was cool, I thought SOAPS were cool (do they even make those anymore?), and I loved the music so much I bought the goddamn soundtrack.

Then a few months ago I was playing SSBM with some friends when we decided we should play Adventure 2. I was amazed at how horrible the camera is, how unnecessarily difficult it is, and how stupid the premise is. Years ago, I thought a giant Loch Ness Monster was an awesome end boss, now I think it's stupidly absurd.

Super Ghouls and Ghosts. I loved this game when I was a kid. I was so good at it. When it became available on the Wii Shop Channel I decided that I'd play it again to show my boyfriend how awesome I was at it. It's now gotten to the point where when I hear the little tune played right after you die and the map shows you wehre you are, it pisses me off. I can at least rest assured that he's not much better, and we both hate it.

Sonic, Sonic, a thousand times, Sonic the Hedgehog. Starting way back in the Genesis days, Sonic was a bit of fresh air... some attitude and speed in a world of tedious sloth and blandness.

Sonic 2 and 3... improving on a winning formula, but slowly getting a bit... crowded. Music and graphics still great for the 16-bit era. But... "lock-on" technology? Pinball? Goddamn Urkel-voiced cartoons? This was clearly not going to end well.

The culmination of this story for me ends with Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, which I loved... at the time. Pretty graphics, a cinematic (for the time) touch, familiary Sonic speed, and... so much goddamn Japanese-style gaming insanity it now makes my head hurt to think about.

Instead of concerning Sonic with getting from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible with as many rings as possible, he was loaded down with the following inanities:

-Chao animal husbandry, in which you coerce Chao's (rescued animals) to mate, in order to win completely uninteractive races against other Chao.
-Time travelling to an ancient Incan civilization entirely populated by Echidnas.
-Bathing in a casino's public bathroom showers.
-Fishing with an enormous, stupid, purple cat.
-Converse with archaeologists and passersby, none of whom find it strange to be stopped on the street by an enormous, blue, talking hedgehog. They all invariably miss their grandmother, or have a crush on a cute but shy boy.

So yes... while my 16-bit Sonic love endures, I've sadly outgrown my partner in this relationship.

@ ChrisAntistaSmellsLikePizza - Very funny

The games that I once lovrd but now hate are the Zelda games. I used to spend ages playing them but I would usually go somewhere on a trip before I finished them. Then I'd try play when I got back but they were'nt interesting anymore.
