PS2. it may not have done anything really new, but most of the greatest games of all time were exclusives (Okami and Shadow of the Collosus anyone? not to mention San Andreas.) and besides, it was made 10 odd years ago and they're still making games for it.
While the older systems paved the way, Im going to have to say the original Xbox, but not because I liked it so much. The PS1 (I believe I read this here on GR) 'curb-stomped' the competition. Microsoft created true competition that brought out the best each company had to offer. It wasnt Nintendo with Mario and Sony with everything else badass. It became a competitive industry thats reached heights no one could have predicted.
Definately the GameCube. It was the system i grew up on (im almost 14) and it sported great and addicting titles, like Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, NFS: Most Wanted, Star Fox Adventures, Super Mario Baseball, and many more that i still own and play today. And the controllers are unique and easy to use, too.
SUPER NEEENTENDOOOO! I get really excited over just about any console that I own (including the Wii) but the SNES was the console that I owned for the longest time. Everybody else was basking in the glow of the N64, I still had my old SNES--tried and true. When I first got it, it came with Super Mario World, and there was an offer for Super Mario All-Stars. Those two games ate up so much of my childhood years I'm surprised my television died of a bad picture tube rather than obesity.
SNES and the Sega Genesis were big parts of my childhood. I had a Playstation too, but I never got a memory card so I didn't play that very often. Out of the three I have to say the SNES was my favorite. Super MArio World may be the greatest game ever and the Donkey Kong Country games ruled as well. I never did beat them though, too ba I can't get my Super Nintendo to work so I could finish them
The genesis. Once I got the Sega Channel my mind exploded. I'm mean shit, Golden Axe 3 was AWESOME when I was a kid and I'm glad I had a way to play it.
I'd have to say the Nintendo 64. I put so many hours in with friends, because we always played multiplayer, playing 'JACKASS' in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, competing for the best times in Mario Kart, and yelling at each other loudly because my Charizard could totally kick your Mewtwo's butt! We held Smash Bros. tournaments, played the obscure Beetle Adventure Racing (supreme graphics, and THE BEST racer on N64), and beat up those stupid punks who said the PS1 was "better". Now I look at my small Jungle Green machine, knowing that it's been almost 10 years, and it's time is limited. Such a sad thing indeed.
this is very unpopular but i love my psp...everybody says its sucks but i can use it to watch movies, listen to music, and plays games..despite what everybody says there are several very good games, and it does all that other stuff..i also liked the ps3, ps2, and 360 but the psp is makes long trips bearable
Gameboy advance. I will always remember waking up on christmas morning and finding it and a copy of fire emblem. I will also always remember lending it to my brother 2 weeks later and having him LOSE IT.
It will be missed.
I'm sorry, but I'm going with the Nintendo 64. Seriously. All of my best memories come from that system. Mario 64, Both Zeldas, Mario Kart, The original Super Smash Bros., Both Banjo-Kazooies, Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye AND Perfect Dark, Kirby 64, Diddy Kong Racing (I guess. I just liked the planes XD), Mario Party (first one) and the fact that Rare was with nintendo then... the list just goes on. Good memories, good times.
runner up: Gamecube. Why? 3 words: Tales of Symphonia. ^_^
My all-time favorite console is Sega Genesis.
When I get sick of all the bull from new shitty games I take my out Sega Genesis and get ready to Rock n Roll.
