Final Fantasy V.
Made it up to Exdeath, who is way more powerful than any of the bosses that come before him, got my ass kicked, couldn't be bothered level grinding to beat him.
It's kind of sad really, but i never beat the first metroid prime game for the gamecube. I got all the way to the omega pirate boss, then, when i couldn't beat him, i gave up.
The original Half-Life. I am a failure as a gamer and a person in general. Forgive me, Gordon Freeman. However, I did complete Half-Life 2 and all the episodes. Hooray!
Final Fantasy 4 for DS. I missed out in high school when everyone was talking about then known as FF2 and FF3 (I've owned only a genesis and saturn during that dismal period). Over a decade later I get my hands on the updated FF4 only to make it to near the end of the boss and I just stopped playing. I'm pretty sure it was the same time as Warhammer Online coming out. But now that I am done with WAR, I still can't seem to pick up FF4 and finish it even though it is as great as how my friends described it back in high school :(
Three come to mind. First is Super Mario Bros 1. I feel so ashamed that I could never figure out that last maze, yet sit in horror as my cousin (a girl no less!*) breezed by it on multiple occasions. Then there was the sequel where I got to Wart only once but because of my nervousness and excitement he killed my ass and I was so distraught over it that I never attempted it again. Hey, I was 9!
My biggest failing as a gamer is in the fact that I've never finished Final Fantasy VI. Hell, I don't think I've put more than 20 hours into the game and yet I own TWO copies of it, the first being the PS1 FF Anthology version and the other the GBA version. I keep wanting to go back to it, but I can never find the time.
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga
I got Partners in Time first, and loved it so I picked up SS. I loved SS too, but then I got to the final boss (some Bowser/Cackletta combo I think) and its not that I got beat a lot, I just quit for no reason.
I've never beaten Metroid Fusion because that damn spider keeps kicking my ass and I also never beat Metroid: Zero Mission because Mecha Ridley is too tough. I dedicate countless hours to playing video games and I still suck at them
I have never beaten Super Mario Bros 3. No matter how many people say how great it is and how many recommendations people make for it, I will probably never get around to beating it out of sheer procrastination.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. I have played and beaten every other game in the series (technically just watched the NES endings on Youtube) For some damn reason I owned this game for several years and it never came out of the package.
The sick thing is, I consider 1 and 4 to be two of my favourite games of all time.
Half-life 2. I get stuck in an endless loop, where I'll say "Hey, I'm gonna play Half-Life 2", then I get halfway through to the Sand Traps chapter in one day, get tired and then when I come back a while later I say to myself "Oh, I won't even remember what's going on, I'll start a new game." Guess where I stop after that?
Call of Duty 4.
I've tried a million times and I'm still stuck on the level where you have to disarm the nuke in under 11 minutes. It is so freaking hard!! I can't believe it, I am able to beat Halo 3 on legendary but i can't even beat COD4 on normal.
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I was almost to the end and i had explored all of the ocean when my memory card suddenly stopped working and became corrupted. I just couldn't bring myself to go through everything again. When i sold it i felt so ashamed like now ill never beat it. another i neve beat was resi 4 too. i'm such a failure :-[
recaptcha: gloat Daniel What did Daniel do that's so incredibly awesome that he should gloat about? i bet he's finished every game he has played
The first Monkey Island. There are some must-play games that I've never played, so I downloaded it a couple of months ago and dropped it when I entered the Monkey Head.
I then moved on to Max Payne, another one of those great game thatI'd never played. Haven't finished it either, dropped it between 1 - 2 months ago.
Too bad I didn't answer the last QOTW. TRecently I've gone back to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, loved that game when I was a kid.
After a little practice, I finally managed to achieve all of the hangar level's goals in one run =D
