I just listened to tdar 57 and instantly recognized Sonic Schoolhouse as soon as i heard the voice. I loved that game and the music brought back great memories. So i'm gonna say MAKE ANOTHER SONIC SCHOOLHOUSE! Honestly moms would buy that for little kids (on the wii especially) and me, a teenage boy, would have to at least check it out just because of the first one. I'm gonna have to look for Sonic Schoolhouse and load it up again.
Compile made the most awesome shooters (when there was only one meaning for shooter,) Zanac, Space Megaforce, Musha, Guardian Legend, Spriggan, all fabulous, some of the best shooters ever made. But then they went off to make Puyo Puyo, and I don't think they've made any shooters since. And Working Designs, absolutely, I wanted to work there after graduating from college after studying Japanese, they did the best conversions of Japanese games ever.
I wish Ensemble. They may not have gone away a long time ago but still. The Age of Empires games were awesome. They may not have been the best games but they were still fun. Also I may regret this but I loved absolutely loved Halo Wars. I'm not even a real fan of Halo. (It's just another shooter!)
Golden eye... and no... im not talking about all the other bond games, because those suck donkey dick. but the ORIGINAL Golden eye was the best. and i also love Ocarina of time. that was a brilliant game.
i would also say Pikmin, although i did read that there was a confirmed Pikmin 3, so thats one that actually came true.
Rare needs a comeback, and their comeback is conker.
a completely new conker game on next-gen consoles would be absolutely stunning considering the original and remake were the best looking games for their respective consoles. (and both were fun as hell)
Answer to QOTW: Nintendo. Quality control. Back when they knew what their fans wanted. Not what my mom wants. Back when their products didn't tell my mom and sister that they're fat (Low fat crap food for my household now! Thanks Wii Fit) I miss blowing the dust out of my NES and N64 just so i could play some Zelda. I miss dying over and over while trying to get the last small key to open that door in the god forsaken water temple. Sure nintendo is giving me enough to keep my faith alive. But shit's rough for the real nintendo fans. Nintendo is not a dead company, its very far from it. But lets face it. Nintendo shit the bed the second they changed link from left to right handed just so i can shake a a white rectangular dildo to make him swing his sword. Resurrect Nintendo. Someone.
It might be too soon, but could we get Clover Studios back? We know that Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and God Hand could have used a little more love...and HD graphics.
Sega consoles even though they burnt themselves out in the mid nineties i had a tonne of memories with my mega drive/gensis and my Dreamcast.
Game wise godamn Soul Reaver, was such an awesome series only to not appear on next gen systems yet. I'm hoping as Eidos is owned by Square Enix now they'll do something with it
Pokemon. They shouldve stopped at 152 of them. They totally blew it out of proportion. Now with all this play a a pokemon dungeon crawl crap. What is this?
I agree with nyef. why can't sonic get it together? The best recent one is sonic chronicles, which was okay, but it still wasn't as good as the sonic games before Sonic Adventures 2. Shadow ruined it all. I would put Mario, but that isn't dead.
I was gonna say Wolfenstein, but then I realized that they're making a new one. So....
I'm gonna say that I miss Duke Nukem the most. We are never gonna have a new one, which made me really sad. The Duke Nukem franchise was fun and irreverent and dead as a hooker in GTA.
I miss the old ghost recon games where you had 2 squads of 3 and you could customize your squads and rank up each members stats and switch in between all 6 members. now its just a bunch of bull shit and they all look like the graphics have not been updated since the first ghost recon (im looking at you GRAW 2 you stupid piece of shit game)
Going old school. I miss Double Dragon. Who didn't love the original brawler, or at least the first one I remember? Controlling Billy Lee as he walked menacingly down the street in a muscle shirt or vest (couldn't tell with 8 bit graphics)a la West Side Story, karatesizing mercilessly any thugs stupid enough to get in his way, like some sort of gay Chuck Norris. The sweet revenge of beating the crap out of some purple haired harlot with the same whip she was just pummeling you with. Knocking white ninja rastafarians off of unfinished skyskrapers. That game was an iconic part of any gamer from my generation's past. A proper current generation remake would be incredible if done true to its legacy.
Sadly, Double Dragon:2009 would most likely be an open-world sandbox game where Billy Lee has amazing parkour abilities, and swings from clotheslines left conspicuosly around New York City. Lee's time would be divided between completing side missions such as preventing liquor store robberies, saving hopelessly outnumbered policemen from gang onslaughts, directly combatting different gangs depending what part of town he's in, running pick up errands, escorting someone from someplace he had no logical reason to be in to another place he has a slightly more reasonable place to be, and collecting 300+ dragon tokens left throughout the city, plus 300 more landmark tokens from the tops of buildings. Billy would be tormented with moral dilemnas that would have little to no impact on the story, characters, or ultimate ending of his tale. Questions such as, “should I donate a kidney to this dying mother of three, or tie this Molotov cocktail to a puppy and throw it through this orphanage window?”
Utilizing weapons taken from enemies, Mr. Lee would battle gangs and policemen alike in his quest to find his brother, incapacitating and/or destroying infected water towers along the way, all the while coming to grips with his newly acquired and evolving super powers. Powers which he’ll need for his final confrontation with Shadow Boss (voiced by Robert Patrick) , whom he will battle either atop a skyskraper, or the charred remains thereof. After completion of the story, the Billy Lee would be free to continue free roaming the city, completing any menial side missions left and finish collecting the nearly impossible to locate Dragon Tokens. Thanks, Activision.
