THE Michael Jackson Franchise, it just feels so dead to me.. Wait. Off Subject. And I'm not sure if I used franchise in the right context. I'll shutup now.
id have to say Rare... i loved all their N64 era games they all kick ass (specially conkers bad fur day) but it seems like the day microsoft payed rare like the slut it finished being, they stoped making good games....sigh
Without a doubt, MechWarrior.
A pioneer in simulation!
I even bought a Force Feedback controller just for it, still have it too!
I absolutely adored MechWarrior, and I still do.
MechAssault just wasn't the same.....
I wish Fasa Studios never closed.
Oh and also Interstate 76. Genius gameplay, funky seventies poetry button, muscle cars with machine guns and Rpg elements in your car!! Acevand still plays well
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the franchise I miss the most. It will technically still be alive in The Old Republic, and I will still try that, but it's too much of a departure from the games I know and love.
I have played through the first KOTOR at least a half dozen times (only played a good character once) and I am really attached to Revan. Since TOR is set 300 years after KOTOR I am going to assume we never really find out what happened to Revan as was talked about so much in KOTOR 2.
Destruction Derby which I had for the N64. The races were set up that half the racers go one way and the other half goes the opposite. The object is to smash the others and survive the 3 laps, much like Burnout. Unlike Burnout, once your car exploded, it was all over. No respawn. It added an element of excitement and tension to each race. Plus there were actually destruction Derby levels, were you drive around aa big arena and destroy the other cars and be the last man standing. I would take a new Destruction Derby over any Burnout game, any day.
Baldur's Gate. I loved the first two and when i saw the teaser at the end of the second one, I was so psyched for another one. Years later i'm still waiting. And make another console kingdom hearts already. That stuff was the s*** even though it is impossibly hard to understand a lot of the story and i have no clue who any of the FF characters are since i never played them.
Oh and Banjo Kazooie on nintendo systems (it died for me when rare was bought by microsoft)i still play the multiplayer shooting game on banjo tooieand play through both of them every once and awhile. although it probably would have got f'd up by motion controls if on the wii so i guess its for the best.
colonization a way old DOS game. but it was my first video game love. sure they made a recent redo but it got many things wrong that it did perfect so many years ago. i.e. since when did the Iroquois be in south america?!?!?!
I want a new, next-gen, Hitman game. I want to poison a fat scottish butchers chicken, I want to shoot a glass jacuzzi conviently positioned over a very high drop, I want to snipe a paedophile actor while he's rehearsing his play. But most importantly, I want to be the bald killer clone, Agent 47, now can I get a HELL YEAH from the audience!?
