Sigh...the Sly Cooper series. Because honestly, I'm a Sly Cooper nut. I really am. I'm not afraid to admit it. I've played those games so many times I'm almost to the point where I know all the words in the friggin dialogue. I was SO SAD when I beat the third one and found out that there was almost zero chance of there EVER being a Sly Cooper game again. I'm still upset about it. I don't think there will ever be another game that has that series' unique charm. The Sly Cooper series is one of the best there is, in my opinion, and I am extremely sad that Sucker Punch let it die...
Rareware. They're just not the same anymore ever since they were bought by Microsoft. Although they were behind a lot last generation. They only released like 3 console games (Starfox Adventures, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, and a remake of Conker) and a bunch of forgotten GBA games, and then had to move on to the Xbox 360. Ever since the 360 launched, they haven't really done that much and what they have put out is really rather boring.
Star Fox. I play Star Fox 64 to death and had it to the point where i could have probably played it in my sleep. Then Adventures came out and I didn't bother with it. it was Zelda with furries. but then Assault came out and I loved it. This console generation is begging for one. Online Co-Op/Multiplayer? This franchise desperately needs it. HD Graphics? oh yeah. On foot missions? NO! No more! Fox belongs in the cockpit. This franchise could probably birth a pretty decent RTS; and a good RTS on the Wii would be a pretty big deal. They need to keep the cheesy dialog though.
The Freelancer franchise.... that game was freaking HUGEEEEE!!!!... it was supposed to be a sequel but noooo FREAKING MICROSOFT DIDN'T WANTED TOO... and please don't say Starlancer was better than Freelancer or i'll get pissed off
Descent. at the time, it was seriously crippled by the too-sophisticated control scheme. Today, with Dual Analog the standard, games of the style could be a real blast (and less taxing/frustrating) to play.
Captcha: Beetho- Heretics. could make a nice game franchise.
Does one game count as a franchise because I want a new psi-ops it's the only game I ever played with full mind control powers, like take control of a guard in first person and make him jump off a building, now that's mind control, and it's the only game I ever played that clearly said to be continued but never was. I need closure dammit.
Troika. Their "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines" absolutely defined for me the PC RPG. Seldom equalled, and never excelled, that. Unfortunately, it put them under, and White Wolf, the IP property holder, cancelled the campaign setting shortly thereafter, so it's pretty much a one shot deal.
One of my all time favourite games NEEDS a sequel. It was a fun, last-gen, multiplatform, awesomeness filled, shooter. Guess what game it was? Metal Arms: Glitch In The System. It was filled with hilarious dialogue, memorable characters, epic bosses and some of the best weapons and gameplay ever.
What other game will let you take over an enemy and use everything they have? What game lets you get the rocket launcher in level three? What game lets you jailbreak a bunch of ally robots and discharge them? What game lets you take over the final boss and kill a crap load of bad guys? Metal Arms!
Epic tank levels, Zombiebots, actual guys giving you a tutorial them getting blown to smithereens, and meeting a random guy and suddenly playing as them (they're strong too) make this one of the best games EVER. Too bad Swingin' Ape Studios was bought. Do yourself a favour and download this game off XBox originals. OR SUFFER!!!!
Interplay and Descent: Freespace...D:FS is probably the best sci-fi sim game ever released and the sad thing: no-one ever played it...the game is free online now, interplay released the source code for modding purposes so do yourself a favor and check it out
I miss Wing Commander. I really enjoyed the third and fourth ones a lot. They were one of the few examples of fmv actually working, at least in between missions.
Plus you got Mark Hamill and Thomas F. Wilson (Biff) as a wing man. Still awesome.
why the hell did Free Radical think Haze was a good idea dont they know that the only thing people want to do is be a monkey..not a stuid drugged up soldier
Fear Effect
Fatal Frame (4th wasn't released here, NoA hates actual ****ing games)
The Suffering
System Shock
Deus Ex (Warren Spector isn't involved in the 3rd)
Conker's *Insert game that will never be made*
Shadowrun
Irrational Games (Company that made Thief, System Shock and was making a video game based off of Dante's Inferno)
