the reason they don't put kanye west (and other overrated rappers like him) in games like guitar hero is because of their songs consist of very little originality, guitar playing.

You want DJ hero if you want a game to cater to your musical taste

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets are pretty awesome. Kinda like a nerdy punk/grunge band. Never would've heard of them if not for the PAX pack.

And also, Priestess had that awesome song in GHIII and their album's pretty solid.

I also checked out a bit more Cream, The Doors, Blue Oyster Cult, Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins, Heart, Jane's Addiction and Thin Lizzy.

I've got a couple bands.

I'm a little embarrased to admit it but I love Asia because of Guitar Hero Rocks The 80s. I heard Heat of the Moment on it. Then I looked up their other songs, and you can figure out the rest.

You guys have probably never heard of Asia, so just Wikipedia them to find out about them.

I also now love Weezer because of Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band. I played My Name is Jonas on Guitar Hero 3, I thought it was a pretty good song, but that was kind of it.

Then on Rock Band, their song Buddy Holly came out on DLC. I bought it on a whim, but after playing it, I listened to more Weezer and never looked back.

this is gonna sound cliche and utterly stupid to some, and please dont rebuke me, but Dragonforce. TTFAF is in fact, NOT their best song, it is Operation Ground and Pound, or even Valley of the Damned. but GH3 really showed me whats up with them haha

Easy, ever since playing Elephant Bones by That Handsome Devil (a bonus track in GH2) I've been in love with the band and their quirky but original style. No song sounds alike and the lyrics are clever as hell. From the funk/alt hybrid of elephant bones to the pseudo blues of Rob the Prez-O-Dent (rock band 2) they run the gamut of music. I now own both of their albums and have seen them twice.

2 words: In. Flames. "Take This Life" opened my eyes/ears to all their other albums. And I've always liked Slipknot so tearin sh*t up in "Before I Forget" in GH3 was shweet.

R.E.M. is one of bands I like now. I am not sure how, but I got hooked by "The One I Love" (GH:WT) really quickly. I also like the first couple songs in Guitar Hero: On Tour.

Rise Against. i think it was Rock Band that has Give It All and i played it over at my friends house with them. after hearing more about them from one of my friends i went and bought one of their albums which has led me to buying most of their other albums. they're now my favorite band ever.

And it's utter shit which is why my brother is the only one who bought this game. But my favorite band would be the guy who made all-stars I played that song on Donkey Konga.

None. In fact, there are bands I like less now because of music games.

Metallica for example. I thought they were over rated to begin with, but the game brought a whole new wave of stupidity and fail to it's fanbase.
