1. Starcraft
2. Kickle Cubicle
3. Fallout 3
4. Pokemon Red/Blue
5. Jet Set Radio Future

these aren't in any order, and man it's hard as hell to make this top 5, but I just remember these 5 games being great during certain periods in my life and I look back fondly to these games more than any others I think.

5. Burnout 3 Takedown - Now usually I don't like racers, but DAMN is this game fun. When you take someone out you can't help but say "Take that, bitch" inside your head. It also helps that this game has one of the best soundtracks I've ever listened to, it really fits the action-packed races and I've even gone and bought a few of the bands albums because of this game. The announcer, Striker, also adds to the game, which is something I never thought I would really notice, but he's full of energy and it actually sounds like he's an announcer, not someone who's reading a script in front of a microphone. The Crash Mode is also fun as hell, who doesn't love just ramming into oncoming traffic and just watching the cars pile up? The only real problem I have with this game is the US Circuit Racer, that thing is a BITCH to drive and no fun at all, but that's okay, since you're not REALLY forced to drive it, only on a few missions.

4. Super Mario Bros. 2 - Very first game I ever played, and what a first game. It may be the forgotten title among the Mario series, but it's still my very favorite of the series to this day, and it had the first inclusion of Luigi in it, who happens to be my favorite mario character.

3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - I have put countless hours into this game, and it still never gets old, every character is perfectly balanced and unique in their own way (although admittedly some are clones of others). The matches never start to get boring, its always different, and there's surefire strategy to win, this is one of the best fighters to date.

2. Okami - Definitely one of the most unique games of its time, no of anytime. Everything is extremely well put together, no power you obtain is level specific, everything remains important throughout the game. Even when the supposed final boss is beaten there is still much to do, in fact, that's only the first half of the game. I am so glad I am one of the few to have bought this game.

1. Resident Evil 4 - You do NOT know how much I love this game, I was literally obsessed with this game for a good portion of my life, for a while, it was all I played. It does such a wonderful job of telling a story, and almost nowhere will you get stuck, the story is always moving forward. It's also very challenging, facing El Gigante the first time was thrilling, especially since I didn't know you could jump on his back, I never wanted to get that close to it to find out. Another thing is that it can also scare the shit out of you very easily, the first time I saw the Regenerators, I wouldn't play the game for a good 3 days before picking it up and trying it again. This is one of the few shooters I own and one of the best, it's my all time favorite game and that will never change.

My top five most played games are:

5. Contra. I love this game so much, that I get the same euphoric feeling as an orgasm during the end explosion. Just not as messy. Naturally, I play it a lot.

4. Animal Crossing. I played this game every morning for an entire summer. Then I suddenly stopped playing it. I came back two years later because I heard a song that reminded me of K.K. Slider, and now I play it every Saturday night after work so I can have all of his songs. Here's to another lost summer!

3. Grand Theft Auto III. After my friend bought this game, I demanded to play it every time I went over to his house. Years later, I purposely played it from afternoon through night and into morning so I would be tired the next day. It's a long story...

2. Tetris. My insomniac game. Whenever I can't sleep I get up and play it. Which is actually a bad idea because now that I'm sick and all I keep having dreams where tetrominoes are crushing and suffocating me.

1. Super Smash Brothers Melee. Not only is this the game I've clocked the most hours on, but it's also a sentimental favorite. I started playing it as my parents' marriage began to crumble, and it's one of the few bright spots of that time period. Aside from that, it's the game that never stays out of my gamecube, or off my tv, for very long. I love it for ever and ever.

1. Freedom Fighters. To date, I have beaten this game over 13 times, it's the Red Dawn like setting and atmosphere, coupled with my republican inborn hate of communists.
2. Pokemon Red. The amount of hours I have put in this game, only to happily delete my save and start a new one baffles most people. My only hand held system is my battered old gameboy color I got when I was five, and the only game in it is my beloved red version.
3. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. The first game I ever played together with my older brother, my love for it knows no bounds. I've bought it around 6 times due to disc scratches and an unfortunate basement flood, yet I still play it whenever I have some time to kill.
4. Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater. A look at my master save file, with clears on every diffuculty and every unlock possible including the download only camo explains better than words.
5.Sam and Max Hit The Road. A personal opinion of mine is that games reached humerous perfection with Lucasarts point and click adventure games in the 90's. No writing is wittier nor jokes funnier than those put forth by time schaffer and steve prucell.

1.super mario bros. 2 (gameboy color)
2.pokemon (any of the gameboy color versions, before they started copy and pasting everything onto a better screen and milking the franchise for every penny they could)
3.burnout paradise (i've lost over 100hrs to that game so far and i still havent done all challenges, so fun)
4.uncharted 2 (i know its not out yet, but it can only improve on the 1st, and with co-op and multiplayer, i'll still be playing it this time next year)
5.littlebigplanet (such a great breath of fresh air. there really aren't many platformers around nowadays, but this keeps the old mario formula whilst bringing loads of new and original ideas (materials, physics, sackboy etc.) and adds in the opportunity to create your own levels and share them with the world, and trust me, some of them really are amazing)

1st is Persona 4. Persona 4 had an unbelievable amount of great gameplay and a memorable story with the best and most amount of voice acting I've seen in a game. The story was long and all the Personas all had this sense of originality that you normally don't get when there are a ton of monsters in a game to collect. The battle system was perfect and complex, offering a variety of strategies. The music was a great rock in roll style, but not the main battle theme.
2nd is Okami. Everything about Okami screamed original and traditional Japanese awesomeness. The music, the gameplay, the story, the art, all meshed together to form an unforgettable experience. 3rd is Shadow of the Colossus. Shadow of the Colossus was simple but brillant. With lush landscapes, vibrant Colossus, and a simple yet touching story, this game will always be hard to top.
4th is the World Ends with You. A RPG that took gameplay and storytelling from a different angle. The art was great and the game offered a variety of unique features like fashion trends affecting battle stats and stat boosting food, but only so much a day. The story kept you on the edge and the gameplay of controlling 2 people at once was a nice change. though lots of the pins were had the same powers but just different designs, there were so many and their designs had a sense of graffiti to them that it was overlooked. The dialogue was also well written, though it could carry on too long at times. 5th is Luminous Arc 2. Luminous Arc 2 had a great amount of depth in both dialogue and strategy. The battle system was fantastic and the dialogue was well written, and often humorous, which is hard to come by in games. The art was radiant and the mechanics offered a great experience, though constant reinforcements got annoying on a few occasions. These games are all very important to me and have influenced my art style to new heights

1. Devil May Cry 3: I can play the same level on hard 30 times trying to get past one part and have fun even while it's kicking my ass. Shooting, slashing and running up walls has never been more fun. That and the fact that its weapons are so over the top it's awesomely ridiculous. Try just SAYING "an electric guitar scythe that shoots out purple lightning and bats" without having some sort of gamer's orgasm.
2. Ratchet and Clank (whole series): Great series with memorable characters and writing alongside guns that make the previously mentioned guitar seem mundane. All the weapons are unique and fun to use and even the default melee, the wrench, is a blast to wack enemies around with. Ratchet and Clank themselves are fun to control with this being one of the most enjoyable platformers I've ever played.
3. Fallout3: Making a world ravaged by nuclear apocalypse humorous and fun isn't easy but they did it here. It's also one of the most incredibly addictive games out there. I've spent so much time playing this I have taken to collecting bottlecaps in real life and attempting to trade them for water. No takers.
4. God of War 1 and 2: Also known as the games that have the most violent and badass game of "Simon Says" as a bullet point. It's the only game series I've played where Quick Time Events are done to enhance the fun rather then as something you put up with to get to the next part. To add to this whipping around the Chaos Blades is fun to watch and extremely satisfying.
5. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: They may have pissed off a few fans looking for a new "serious" Zelda game with the art style but I found it refreshing and the game as a whole is one of the most enjoyable experiences out there.

Top 5 games I played the most? Well, That's a bit hard... In order least to first, I would have to say... 5: World of Warcraft, for good(?) reason... Until I got bored of paying money to play online. 4: Kingdom Hearts 2, Which i still played after I beat the story because It was just too damn addicting. 100% on Proud Mode. Sephiroth was a bitch. 3: The entire Pokemon Series. I can't narrow it down to one game, because anyone who's played those games knows the feeling of wanting to "Catch 'em all." of course, I've only accomplished this on the Original Game Boy games, but still... 2: Pac-Man. I don't care if it's an arcade game, It still eats my time up almost as much as my #1 game, which most Xbox 360 players share, Halo 3. I love that game. I don't care what anyone says. Infection is awesome. CTF is my favorite non-slayer gametype. It's just a thrillingly epic game! Other games may have more weapons, or cooler ones, but Halo 3? Two Words: Energy Sword. Vehicles? Banshee, Scorpion, Chopper, the list goes on. All the haters and complainers out there, there's obviously a good reason for all the hype. Oh, and Forge? What other console game offers that? There's a reason that these are the same arguments over and over: They work. The sheer amount of customization in these games is overwhelming. I only have one complaint: Stop Teabagging.

Man, I forgot Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. This game easily ties with Luminous Arc 2 for my 5th favorite game. the dialogue is the best I've seen on a handheld, the gameplay is fun, addicting, and simple yet complex. the art is great the it's amazing how many classes are in this game. The story is slightly stereotypical, but the dialogue keeps the story fresh and welcoming. This question is so hard, as I like different games for different reasons, but overall I believe these 5 (6) games are my top five favorites (though Luminous Arc 2 and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones tie a 5th place).

My humble list. (With witty explanations!!!)

1. Half-Life

I don't think I have ever played a game that has caused me to go through so many emotions and involved me deeply into its story. I distinctly remember one part where you crawl through a pipe to get to the surface, when all of a sudden a grunt hears you and tosses and satchel charge in your face, causing you to hit the 'S' key as hard as you could while screaming and praying it doesn't go off. Although this may violate the list, I must include the mods that this game has spawned over the years. This includes: Counter-Strike, Issues, and Zombie Panic. I also loved the expansion to Half-Life and will wait quietly for Adrian Shepherd to come out of stasis.

2. Starcraft

I think 10 million Koreans will agree with me that this game has created a legend for itself. Not only did it create 3 perfectly balanced races (over time and with patches) it sucked me in with its overwhelming campaign and over time I fell in love with the Zerg. Lurker drops and mutalisk harrassment never fails! (Unless there's mass corsairs)

3. Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt

To those who have played this, remember the Omaha Beach level? Remember the urgency that surrounded you? Remember watching that soldier die in the medic's arms, and how helpless he looked as they kid behind a few scraps of metal? Remember the adrenaline surging in your veins as you run TOWARDS FIRING MGS? This was the adrenaline rush that Call of Duty was inspired by. Blazing through that campaign was easily the most captivating WWII PC game ever for me.

4. Half-Life 2 (ONLY!!! No Episodes!!!)

Excuse me? Did I just cut a zombie in half with a flying sawblade with my gravity gun? Did I just grab a live grenade that a Combine Soldier tossed at me and flung it back into his face? Wait...Oh. My. God. I just created a makeshift mobile shield of sheet metal so that I can get in range for a shotgun kill. Half-Life 2 defined physics in a video game. It also created creativity in a strictly linear game. Can you finish the game solely by grabbing nearby debris and using them as ammo for your Gravity Gun? Abso-****ing-lutely. I think the point where I fell in love with HL2 would be Ravenholm, where you are let loose with the Gravity Gun into a town where harpoons, explosive barrels, and sawblades and just begging to be used. Oh yeah, and Father Grigory, that guy is awesome.

5. Bioshock

A modern masterpiece. This game fought with Portal, Call of Duty 4, and even KOTOR to get to my number 5. Bioshock did more than tease my brain with portal puzzles, get my gung-ho adrenaline pumping, or send me on space missions to fight evil. Bioshock took me into its arms and then slowly submerged me into Rapture. It then introduced me to a whole new world that had me gaping in awe...and then horror. Watching the Little Sister from the upstairs as it sung a haunting lullaby was the moment I knew this game was different. Hearing that I (SPOILER) was actually a tool made me genuinely angry and I wanted to redeem myself. Bioshock attraced me with Rapture and all of its citizens Little and Big, but the plasmids and story made me fall in love with it.

1. Freelancer: A game which I cannot possibly stop playing and working on. Its modding community is still strong 6 years after its release and despite no help from the developers whatsoever. It's addictive, worse than drugs!

2. Guild Wars: The best MMO-like I've seen. Its business model, awesome developer, great ideas and flexibility create one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played. I'm glad the game is massively successful and even moreso that a sequel's shaping up.

3. Company of Heroes: The best RTS ever. 'Nuff said.

4. Sins of a Solar Empire: A very novel and interesting game that takes cues from both 4X, turn-based games and RTS games. It's the best of both worlds, its modding community is flourishing, its developer and its publisher have to be by the best in the industry and the game is just plain fun in all cases.

5. Transport Tycoon: A blast from the past, I know. This game is the precursor to Rollercoaster Tycoon, but I find it better in almost every respect. Its OpenTTD flavor, an opensource clone of the game, is fully compatible with modern systems (the original was released in the mid 90s) and removes all the limitations of the old game. You just start with a pile of cash and you get a huge transportation empire running from there. It's awesome.
