umm... umm... umm... hmm... i don't think i've ever beaten an entire franchise because i usually never play spin offs or the franchise is older than me therefore i have not played the old ones.
I Have, at some point or another, beaten every game in the final fantasy series. That's right, even X-2. There goes 20 hours of mission-based hell I may never get back.
I've beaten every Streets of Rage game (2 being my favorite because the levels get to be so absurd). I think that's about it for whole series' I've completed. I would say it's kind of sad, but often a series becomes so flooded with sequels that I find it ridiculous to finish them, especially when the games are crap. I have no interest in playing Hotel Mario, the CD-I Zeldas, Castlevania 64, Final Fantasy X-2, etc. so I will never complete those series'. But I will finish all the Metroid and Metal Gear games, someday...
iv played through through kindom hearts games and pretty much the super mario series..
id like to say pokemon but can anyone actually say they caught every pokemon in every game thus earning the term completion??
where to begin, where to begin... the first series i ever beat was the Tony Hawk origionals, borrowed the first one, then bought the rest (including 3&4) for ps1. after i got my ps2 i was immediatedly hooked on the jaks and beat all of them. i still own them exsept for jak X which i rented. more recently i beat all of the call of dutys on ps2 then upgraded my PC got MW, bought my xbox and didnt get a chance to play WAW yet, but i really dont want to. after i beat that i rented halos 1 and 2 beat them, bought halo 3, beat that. and then i saw your lovely Gears vs. Halo article which got me into gears, beat both of them and now im about half way to getting seriously 2.0 on 2.
Every real Pokemon games in the main series, plus stadium 1 and 2, battle revolution, pinball, the first mystery dungeon, and the first ranger. Also i beat every monkey ball game. And being an Xbox fanboy, i beat every Halo game, of course
I'm proud to say that I've beaten every game in the Mega Man AND Mega Man X series. Even though some people feel like Capcom flooded the market with Mega Man games, every in both series is still fun, and very difficult...well except for Mega Man X7. Let's forget that that one was even made.
I had almost forgot how hard the Mega Man series truly was until a friend of mine recently downloaded Mega Man 9. He had never played a Mega Man game before and he's been playing the game since it game out...and still hasn't beaten a single boss! So yes I am very proud of beating these games.
ive beating the sly cooper series, the halo trilogy, ratchet and clank, guitar hero (so far), Rock Band trilogy (So far, the tak series,Jak and Daxter series, gears of war series (so far), Strong Bad's C.G.F.A.P Series, Myth series, all of the simpson's games (including arcade), beat all the super mario bros games (so far including the rpgs they make) fallout trliogy, call of duty trilogy (so far), murdered the tomb raider trilogy (so far), Gex trilogy, twisted metal series, killzone series (so far) ace combat series, super smash bros series (professor layton is coming to SSB, just gonna give a heads up) half-life series (so far, waiting for episode 3). and thats it.......
Resident Evil. I'm only just realizing this now, but I didn't even enjoy half the games.
I started with RE3, which was indeed a lot of fun, but it kind of skewed my perception of the series. When I went back to play the first two I could not figure out that you were supposed to run away from zombies most of the time - I killed every one and spent the rest of the time wondering where the hell all the ammo was.
I attributed to the series that childhood attitude of "boy this is really hard so I must be having fun!" Poor, misguided younger me. Thank god RE4 came along.
Beat all the Zelda games. Had to get the GBA re-releases of the first three. Adventure of Link took the longest though. I remember getting so irritated at the last dungeon that I stopped playing it for a month. Then when I eventualy returned I got it first go. That was three years ago and I haven't been able to finish it since.
To conform, every naughty dog game.
Spyro the dragon.
Insomniac Games. Ratchet and Resistance.
Devil May Cry.
Does Ico/Shadow of the Colossus count?
Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, though I don't really count that as a series. (No plot continuity? WTF?!)
Forgot Castlevania. I am younger, so it took a lot of bargaining with the used game store people to get all the old school games/consoles. My sega genesis did hold out till the end though!
