Raikou

Raikou is the Electric type third of the legendary beast trio introduced in Pokemon Gold / Silver.

Obtainable via:

Pokemon Colosseum – Raikou is available to capture during the boss battle with Cipher Admin Ein at Cypher Lab. Bring some Ground-type Pokemon with you to counter the mostly Electric-type Pokemon in the lab.

Pokemon FireRed / LeafGreen – If you chose Squirtle as your starter Pokemon, Raikou will appear roaming around Kanto after you beat the Elite 4.

Raikou knows the move Roar, which allows it to flee battle regardless of whether you used Mean Look or any move/ability that prevents fleeing, so don’t even try it. Warning: under no circumstances do you want him to use Roar!  If he flees using Roar he’ll be gone… forever! If you insist on going after him without using a Master Ball, be aware that it’ll probably take several encounters before you finally get him.

Raikou is an excellent candidate for using your Master Ball. Actually, it is THE candidate for the Master Ball – do yourself a favor and just use it, please.

Trivia: Raikou’s billowy cape was originally orange in his Gold / Silver sprite. It’s purple in every subsequent game.

Rayquaza

This ferocious Dragon/Flying type Pokemon is the cover star of Pokemon Emerald.

Obtainable via:

Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald – After beating the Elite 4, return to Sky Pillar and Rayquaza will be waiting for you at level 70. Rayquaza knows Rest (regains full HP after sleeping for two turns), which can be annoying, but otherwise this is a pretty straightforward legendary battle.

Trivia: Rayquaza is the only legendary Pokemon that learns an HM move by leveling up (Fly at level 45).

Regice

This Iceburg Pokemon is the Ice-type third of the golem trio introduced in Ruby / Sapphire.

Obtainable via:

Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald – Regice resides in the Island Cave on Route 105. Fly to Dewford Town and then Surf west. Cross the island and continue northwest. When you reach Island Cave, reach the Braille message and then wait for until the passage opens (in Emerald, you have to run a lap around the perimeter before it will open, but in Ruby / Sapphire you just have to stand there until it opens). You’ll find Regice inside at level 40.

Pokemon Platinum (North America and Japan only) – Event only! To unlock the golem trio (Regice, Regirock and Registeel) in Platinum, you’ll need to have obtained the special North American event Toys R Us event Regigigas (or if you're playing on a Japanese version, the movie theater event one).

You’ll have to transfer Regigigas from your Diamond or Pearl cartridge to your Platinum cartridge. With the special Regigigas in your party, enter Mt. Coronet at the west entrance off Route 211. Go north then west and head down a floor (you’ll need Strength to get through). Defog if you wish, and keep heading all the way north and take the last staircase on the right. Head north and you’ll immediately see what looks like another cave entrance. Inside, step on all the dots on the floor and the battle with a level 30 Regice will trigger.

Trivia: Regice is the only pure Ice-type legendary.

Regigigas

This Colossal Pokemon is the master of the legendary golem trio.

Obtainable via:

Pokemon Diamond / Pearl / Platinum –With all three Regi golems (Regice, Regirock and Registeel) in your party, Fly to Snowpoint City and head north to Snowpoint Temple. Make your way down to the bottom level (there are six floors) and Regigigas will appear at level 70 in Diamond / Pearl and level 1 in Platinum.

Note: If you want to obtain the three Regis in Platinum, you MUST have the special event Regigigas in your party (in North America it was one given away at Toys R Us, and in Japan it was a movie theater event for the 12th movie). Using a Regigigas obtained through the above method won’t make them appear.

Trivia: Regigigas is the only pure Normal-type legendary.

Regirock

This Rock Peak Pokemon is the Rock-type third of the golem trio introduced in Ruby / Sapphire.

Obtainable via:

Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire / Emerald – From Lavaridge Town, head east until you reach the desert, then travel south through the desert until you reach the Desert Ruins. Once inside, follow the instructions on the Braille message, which are:

Ruby / Sapphire: RIGHT, RIGHT, DOWN, DOWN, USE STRENGTH.
Emerald: LEFT, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN, USE ROCK SMASH.

So, move right/left two spaces, down two, and then use Strength/Rock Smash, and a door that leads you to Regirock  (level 40) will open.

With the special Regigigas in your party, head to Route 228 in the northeastern island area. If you’re entering Route 228 from the west side, head slightly south down the bike ramp into a little sunken area with a cave entrance. Enter, and step on all the dots on the floor to trigger the battle with a level 30 Regirock.

Trivia: All three Regi golems, including Regirock, are weak to Fighting-type moves.

i got every legendary on pearl and then i saved and the next day i wanted to see (between me and my friend) who could get to the top of mt. cornet first and when i got there Arceus was floting there and he was red and black.(also i only got arceus throught trade.) so i talked to it and it roared and it went to a battle and then the screen went blank and it said " file was corrupted please turn off the console"

Return of Pokemusings? Maybe....

Also, I tried the Giratina thing, and It didn't work. I'm pretty sure it's random how you encounter it...

And again, do you know the Legit OT's for Ho-oh? Because mine says MATTLE as the OT, and the ID is 10048, which I think is Legit, but it says it comes from Hoenn.

Oh, and @Dplunder-Lol you bought hacked game. Not even shiny Arceus is that color. Of course, there is the major chance that you are lying, which is probably true as well.

@reyalejandro13

The Giratina thing is weird. I suspected it was random too, but then two different people at the office with two different games tried it and it worked. It definitely worked for me when I tried it. Maybe it's just more likely it will work that way, but doesn't work 100% of the time? I'm really not sure actually.

As for Ho-Oh, there's nothing there that would indicate that it's not legit. That info matches up perfectly with one of the Ho-Oh events in the US. You can actually find that exact Pokemon in serebii.net's list of event Pokemon:

Uxie is the mascot of PokePedia, which is a French language online Pokemon encyclopedia

Why?
secretsearcher  - 7 months 4 days ago
Two of my friends and I had an argument recently about which is better, Mew or Mewtwo. I say Mew, they say Mewtwo. What does anyone else think?
thefarkinator  - 7 months 4 days ago
@secretsearcher: I don't know quite what to say. Mewtwo probably has better stats, but idk if he can learn any dark/ ghost moves to dispose of Mew with.

Thanks for this article. I knew most of the ways to get the legendary pokemon, but a few I didn't know like the Pokemon Ranch one for Mew.

Has anyone thought of writing an article about IV's? I know there's one about EV's, and that was helpful. I understand the basics of IV's, but not well enough to make a perfectly trained IV pokemon. I have yet to find a clear explanation on the internet. Serebii's helped, but didn't explain well enough. I was wondering if GamesRadar wanted to take the challenge? Or maybe just direct me to a website that has a clear explanation?
