Killzone 2 video guide – Intel Cases and Helghan Symbols

All 52 collectable Helghast icons and briefcases caught on film

Words: Paul Ryan, GamesRadar US

There are 52 things for you to find in Killzone 2. That’s 20 Intel cases and 32 shatterable symbols. Think you can find them all without our video guide? Well, then go right ahead, but we’re here if you need us.

That’s right, you need us. Go ahead and take a look at a few vids. Nice, aren’t they? It took us awhile to compile them, so you may notice that they’re not always in the order you come across them in the level. That’s because – like we said – they’re tough to find. They’re in the order we found them for each level, so they’re roughly in order of difficulty. Don’t worry, everything’s labeled and really easy to figure out. The best part is you don’t even have to tell your friends you cheated.

Intel Case 1 – Verdran Overlook East

Congratulations, you’ve taken your first step towards Intel case dominance. This case shows up after you clear the way for the convoy to travel through the floodgate. You can’t miss it. Killzone 2 tells you when you get there.

Intel Case 2 – Verdran Overlook West

Get to the section when your squad mates ask you to use a rocket launcher to blow up a weak wall. Apparently, you’re the only one who bothered to pass the rocket launcher class in basic Marine training. After you rock that wall’s face off, head into the room and locate the case under some stairs, on the floor.

Helghan Symbol 1 – Verdran Overlook East

After the first of many sections you cover the squad from higher ground, the game gives you a heads-up to make sure you don’t miss this Helghan symbol.

Helghan Symbol 2 – Storm Drain 11-34C

After smashing the first symbol you’ll enter the sewer system and kill a couple of Helghast  lowlifes hanging out in a room. Find the way out of the room and, instead of turning left, go to your right to find the second symbol.

Helghan Symbol 3 – Stahl Arms Warehouse

After you raise the floodgate by turning a wheel, look out the window. This symbol is hanging on the outside wall of the building directly across from you, slightly to your right.

Intel Case 1 - Verudan Alley

This case is in a long hallway you enter after you find the first rocket launcher on this level (immediately after symbol two). Carefully look around the hallway to find your first Intel case for Blood Meridian.

Intel Case 2 – Cableway Heights

Exit the Verdran Alley section and enter the Cableway Heights. You’ll be attacked by several Helghast (surprise) on the rooftops. Cross a narrow bridge between two buildings and enter a covered section to your right to find the second Intel case.

Intel Case 3 – Dakurol Alley

In the beginning of the level, blow open the door with a charge pack after being ordered to destroy the arc tower. The case is behind some rubble in the hallway you enter.

Helghan Symbol 1 – Wollan’s View

Kill the first Heavy Weapons Helghast trooper (hint: shoot the glowing tanks on his back) and move to the next area. You’ll get into a firefight across an aqueduct, and the symbol will be in the second story of the building behind you.

Helghan Symbol 2 – Verudan Alley

When you run across the first rocket launcher in this level (you find it on the ground), use it to take out the turret at the top of the alley. Run up to it and find the second symbol hidden behind a chain link fence.

Helghan Symbol 3 – Cableway Heights

After entering a small enclosed rooftop area in the Cableway Heights (Intel case two), continue on towards the arc tower. As you exit the enclosure, turn around and look above the doorway to find the third symbol.

Helghan Symbol 4 – Landing Zone 33

Immediately after beginning Blood Meridian, look along the buildings to your left. When you find a small nook, go in and find the fourth symbol sitting on a wall around your eye level.

Helghan Symbol 5 – Dakurol Alley

This symbol can be found after running into the first Helghast in Dakurol Alley. Instead of chasing them around the corner to the right and continuing to fight, like a man would do. Turn your back on them and look for the fifth symbol behind a short wall at the back of the alley.

Intel Case 1 – Malik Back Alleys

After fighting through the first Helghast occupied building, drop down through a hole in the floor, into a room with several bookshelves and a desk. The Intel case is behind one of the displaced bookshelves.

Intel Case 2 – Union Storage Yard

When you reach the union storage yard (you might notice the tank smashing through the wall in the previous area), you’ll hear some witty banter about sandwiches from a couple of your fellow soldiers. That’s your cue to look on the ground next to where they’re standing. Give yourself a pat on the back, you’ve just found Intel case two in Visari Square.

Helghan Symbol 1 – Prefect’s Office

Start the level. Walk outside. Look across the open area to the wall on your left. Ta-da!

Helghan Symbol 2 – Prefect’s Office

Early in the Visari Square level you climb down some embankments to street level and fight your way into a Helghast occupied building. When you’re making your way back up the interior of the building, you’ll come across a row of doors. Two are slightly ajar, and the symbol can be found hanging behind one of them.

Helghan Symbol 3 – Malik Back Alleys

When you reach the electrified door in the alley, look out over the area you just fought your way through and you’ll see the symbol hanging high on a wall.

Helghan Symbol 4 – Ostoja End

After descending a staircase to Ostoja End, you’ll enter the second building to building firefight of the level. Clear the first floor of your building and ascend to the second to find the fourth symbol hanging on a wall. Shoot that symbol.

Helghan Symbol 5 – Ostoja End

After finding symbol four, in the second floor of the building in Ostoja End, Go halfway across the barbed-wire bridge between the second stories of the first and second buildings of the section. Look to your left. The final symbol is off in the distance, just waiting to be shot down.

Intel Case 1 – Dushan Tower Courtyard

After finding your very first flamethrower, you’ll run into your good buddy Garza, but you’ll have to fight your way up to meet him. Take your time saving his butt and you can find this case in one of the first rooms you’ll be taking cover in.

Intel Case 2 – Dushan Loading Bay

After blowing up the first artillery gun, but before exploding the second, look for a small room next to a couple of mounted turrets. The doors are closed, but they’re unlocked and will slide open when you approach. The second case is inside.

Intel Case 3 – Substation Strongpoint

You’ll blow open a door on the way to rejoin the rest of the convoy after taking out the artillery. You’ll find this case on a table inside.

Helghan Symbol 1 – Canal Bank

Disable the electrical current and enter the sewer at the beginning of this level. When you arrive at the first large room in the sewers drop to the bottom level and look for the first symbol.

Helghan Symbol 2 – Dushan Loading Bay

In the room with the first artillery guy in it (it’s the big thing you destroy), look around for a set of double doors leading to a room with lots of shelves. When you find them look up and turn around. The symbol will be on your left.

Helghan Symbol 3 – Corinth Shanties

When you begin searching for surviving marines, move through the knee deep water until you emerge from the covered section. The symbol will be high on a wall to your right. If you can’t see it, go farther out from cover.

Helghan Symbol 4 – Substation Strongpoint

If you can make it through the hallway with three tripmines (look for the incredibly obvious red lasers), you should climb up the ladder at the end of the hall. You’ll see a Helghast building with red banners hanging from it and a symbol near the top.

Intel Case 1 – Radec Academy

Play through, like, the whole level. When you run into Radec’s office to kill him – don’t get your hopes up – look at his desk. The case is on top of it, so grab it before the cutscene kicks in.

Intel Case 2 – Radec Academy

When you enter Radec’s academy, climb up the first short set of stairs, turn around and look to your left. The case is on the ground next to the entrance, but you can’t see it until you climb those first stairs. That’s why we told you to climb the stairs first.

Helghan Symbol 1 – Bridge West

Clear the entire bridge of Helghast (both sides of the raised section), and hop in the jeeps. When you arrive at your destination, take a look above the giant doors of the academy building to find this symbol.

Helghan Symbol 2 – Radec Academy

This symbol is also above the door to Radec Academy, but it’s on the inside of the building. You might say it’s above the exit to Radec Academy.

Helghan Symbol 3 – Radec Academy

This symbol is in the first room of the Academy that you have to fight your way through, and that’s all we’re going to tell you. Just look at the video.

im stuck on the last level, when you have to take a stand on the balcony, cant fucking do it, died about 71 times.

Wow, I've missed so many. I guess I'll go for these when I go through on the hardest difficulty.

Heh. I only have like 6 intel Cases and 4 Emblems. No matter though. This should help, if not help enough to greatly increase those numbers.

And what Randy and Applejuice said, The last Boss truly isn't that hard. You just have to keep moving when you fight him. But before that, I used the Sniper and hid in the back and picked people off, and shot the others with the M4 when they got too close. Wasn't too difficult. Died like 3 or 4 times because I was getting used to it.

Thanks for this. Now I can go for platinum :D I'm, already a general, and in the top 1% of players!

Thanks for this! :D
I doubt I'll get platinum though, unlike many people, I'm not even in the top 50% of top players. Hoping my Clan will put us into a tournament, the leader and one clan member are my good friends.

Also, thta last boss was a real pain in the ass, so much backup. That buggy is now my greatest weapon for the last level... I could reach him because of that.

Salamun District

Helghan Symbol 1 – Canal Bank

This symbol can be easily picked off before exiting the sewer pipe. It's set low on the opposite wall.(Under the walkway where the HG soilders talk about Radec executing grunts for uniform violations)

Awesome guild except for one problem, the symbols aren't in the right order on the guild so symbol 4 is actually the first symbol you come across in the level. lame!
