This is promising. I wasn't sure about how they'd handle continuing the story from a story with multiple endings -- I think their solution with the original character being a kind of messiah, with differing beliefs about who he was -- is pretty cool.
I also like how your character will be more powerful, but the enemies will be smarter and more evolved. I think this game will be harder than the first -- it looks like combat will be more complex, and there will be different kinds of combat situations, not just walking into rooms and blazing away.
My only issue with the game is that it looks like it's going to be largely the same setting, with the dark, blood-spattered metallic hallways, etc. etc. Am I the only one who's a little tired of this? Even though it makes sense in this game, it still feels kind of unimaginative. I would have loved a Bioshock prequel that took place in Rapture at its peak. I guess I'm just tired of every game of this kind being all dark and gloomy. Oh well. Maybe Bioshock 3.
i love this article, and im definately going to get it on release date. also, you still have to deal with other big daddies. and i cant wait for the new plasmid upgrades, that flamethrower version of incinerate looks fucking awesome. what i am wondering is if there is going to be cash again, and also how you will upgrade plasmids? like if it will be at a vending machine again, or if you can do like fable did where you can do it at any time. the one thing that i dont like about this, is the whole "defend the little sister" that was my least favorite part of the last game. But, im worried about if there will be an instant death if you kill to many big daddies, and the big sister gets pissed. i want to be able to have an auger effect like in Dead Rising, where the zombie would stay on the auger. i hope that happens with the drill like in the movie when you let the title screen sit for a bit, and the splicer gets drilled through from first person... that was BRUTAL!!
i understood this completely: one little sister grew up and went back to rapture, in the trailer, and she become just like Andrew Ryan. You are the first Big daddy, a prototype, and you can walk the ocean floors, and are ment to protect the Little sisters, whom The big Sister has stolen, as in that website "Theres something in the sea". i understood this thanks to GR
Props to who ever thought of the big daddy thing anyway with the drill thingy mabey the designers will make it so you could impale someone and carry them out into the ocean. And there is a shark frenzy, that would be SICK
P.S.Dplun wuz hear
P.S.S. with Dontsayimfirst dude it is annoying but, if you still actually comment it's not a total waste
I don't understand why Andrew Ryan is dead. The vita chambers were coded to Ryan's DNA, that's why you, his son, were able to be revived after dying and splicers weren't. Therefore when he died he should have been resurrected at the nearest vita chamber.
I'm so excited for this game! I played and beat the first one several times, and have almost forgot about it. Now I'm ready to play some more BioShock!
I actually just bought Bioshock after extensive reading and a couple of playthroughs of the demo (I'm not a massive single player FPS fan so I only buy them if I'm 90% conviced that they will atleast be satisfying if not mind blowing, which is about as conviced I can be about any game with out having played the full version elsewhere first). If I really enjoy it which I anticipate I will after having played the demo and being in awe at some of the stuff that was presented, I'll definatly give this a chance depending of course at the initial critical reaction both from sites and fans. It sounds really cool, like it could have a gret story line and be more that just a run, shoot and get the the end of the level before starting the next, much the same corresponding level type of FPS. Could be a minor disaster, not that I think it can be a terrible game from what I've seen, but based on the fact that the origional is one of the gaming worlds greats.
Still, looking forward to exploring the origional Bioshock and looking forward to seeing how this holds up on release, especially if I fall in love with the first.
I am definitely getting this. Bioshock is one of the most engrossing and interesting games I've ever played, easily on par with the likes of Half Life 2. So far, I like what I see in Bioshock 2 in terms of new places and capabilities. The only possible problem I could foresee would be the possibility of uninteresting main characters (relative to the original's cast of course), it's going to be hard to match the likes of Ryan and Fontain. I especially like the more introspective theme of the game, it was the best part of the first for me, but only showed up near the very end. Hopefully it will live up to its predecessor's legendary status.
