Do you seriously think that Bungie took the time to make his face look exactly like they were going to make it look almost 2 years later in a different game when his head is inside a helmet the whole time? C'mon... be realistic...

Probably not the same. Forge is so much more badass. But, if there were a Halo Wars 2, they could bring Forge back by saying he hid in a refridgerator during the explosion. It worked in Indiana Jones, right?

Unofficial representative of the people who read into Halo's intricacies and know most of, and probably too much, of the backstory.
Sorry to burst your bubbles, people, but John Forge is not John-117, a.k.a. the Master Chief. In case it wasn't obvious by the video or the actual game cutscene, Forge was ENGULFED BY A SUPERNOVA. No matter who you are, there is no deus ex machina big enough to save you from a got damn SUPERNOVA. Not even dragon ball revival would do it.
Secondly, Bungie has stated time and time again that the face behind the MULTIPLAYER visor in the Halo 3 MULTIPLAYER BETA was an easter egg, and was a photoshopped face of one of their employees. In fact, I'd put money on it being Marcus Lehto's face, the guy who also supplied the face and voice for Sgt. Stacker in Halo 1.
Third, if you want to get nerdy, the Chief was either off in another solar system or recuperating from an injury sustained in that solar system when Harvest was attacked, and Halo Wars started.

Sgt Forge is NOT the Master Cheif. The books ARE canon, and all 4 of the Halo games recognize the books as so. This article is based on VERY faulty assumptions and poor evidence. This, including the fact that that glithed face is NOT the MC's face, makes this whole article void.

Okay, I, even though I truly believe that the books tell the best story, have to admit that there is a lot of evidence to suggest that Forge >= Master Chief, but until Bungie makes a direct statement on this, I won't completely believe it.

Yeah forge is most likely alive for a halo wars sequel, if u look at the picture of chief then u see his face is deformed and burned and forge obviously got burned but he somehow survived. But i agree with NelosAngel he should remain faceless
