Williams Road Racer (1962)

Racing games of today don't offer loud bells for completing a lap without leaving the road. This does - and so it's immediately better in our book.

This 1962 machine features fully progressive steering from the life-size wheel, 3D scrolling road (achieved with rotating barrel technology) and a scoring system that classifies the driver after one minute's time. Are you "super driver?" Do you "need practice?" Or can you hit the magical "perfect driver" grade? Gran Turismo, eat yer 16-valve heart out.

Above: Gran Turismo HD and Williams Road Racer. Can you guess which is which?
