It's all gone way too Halo. But the only way they can pull it back is say "OK, turns out, the Sires, the Locust, the Humans, the Imulsion... just one big coincidence!" and I don't think that would float.
Next thing you konw, Jack will have a giant red lazer that fires from his eyes and be the final boss, there will be 4 player co-op with 2 un-named Gears, and you'll have Anya constantly popping up on screen, slowing you down, and saying shit like "I am your shield, I am your sword."
I have come up with a word that describes these changes perfectly:

The whole theory of human to sire, sire to locust, locust to immullsion locust is brilliant. My only hope is that they don't try and pull a halo where it becomes humans and locust or immullsion locust fighting the opposite. ie human and I locust fighting locust.

Marcus's dad is Scourge... who else could he be + Adams been missing for a long time so he could have been exposed to imulsion and what not and transformed

talking about the Carmines,i think the last Carmine(Whos name is going to start with a D)might actually stay alive.Hopefully he Might the Lt. and the oldest Carmine.Also that the locust queen is a human hybrid style that was expermimented on by scientist.Also if you pay attention to niles(which most probably dont) that they found the sires at Mt. K. So i think they were a new kind of locust made by selective breeding. Like combing a wretch(speed+melee) plus something like a kantus(Physical strength+highly "armored" carapace" Just like what people did to animals for specific traits. Also that i also think that people were experimenting with the Sires to make humans "the dominant species of serra" By making them Stronger faster and more resilient to damage.Also how there were captives like the marks on the wall made by the prisoner in the one room(collectable)also having to agree Dizzy is still alive it looked like he wasnt even captured, so i think he escaped on Bessy. So i think this is what i have to say for now.Im probably wrong but thanks for reading

Does jack ever talk or try to defend an station...I THINK NOT.Plus jack is a robot PROGRAMMED by the COG,so hes not going to be the final boss that just be retarded like the Oracle a s a final boss. Plus i think you never played the story. There are 2 other gears called COLE AND BAIRD.If there was 4 player co-op you would play as COLE AND BAIRD. Plus Anya is a HUMAN not a AI. So if she was to do that youd see the pop up screen and sstart talking.BUT she stays at CONTROL which is GUARDED MY THE ELITE COGS like COlonel Hoffman. So there is no way that GoW2 is going to turn into a different halo.So..instead of being biased PLAY BOTH GoW and GoW2 AND THEN TALK TO ME ABOUT THE STORY

I was always guessing what would happen in Gears, it seemed to have the quiltiy of keeping people guessing. All though it does seem to be odd it is a very exciting game to play and i would recomend this game for all ages *_*. Cause even my sister plays it and she is was younger then it recomends.

maybe the Locust are blind and dont even realize they are being controlled by a human look-alike queen. they live underground where its dark so im guessing there would be no need for sight. but i dont know how that would explain their glyphs. or the locust can be blind to some extent, maybe unable to recognize some complex shapes. wat if the clothing of the locust queen is controlling her (?) wierd i know but it could be possible if wat people are saying about its seeming alive is true and thus the "clothing" can assume a wide variety of sentient beings as a host and make the locust unaware that its new host is not one of them :0

I think the disease that spread is just showing you how u fucked up on the first game I don't think it will be very significant as for everything else gamesradar is right

well we all have good conclusions on what is what..but for the most part this is what i think.
based only on the story of the game and events in it, i think that Adam Fenix and the Locust queen were at one point together. But what happened was that somehow Adam Fenix was involved in creating the locust, and after Humanity (the government) realised that they were becoming a threat the only thing to do was destroy them. Thats when she (the queen) comes in, she repelled against this decision and strongly beleived that the Locust, (like every other species) deserves a chance. I think Adam Fenix helped her accomplish this which is why she respects him so much,but he didn't fallow her footsteps. And the only way for the Locust to stay hidden for so long, was for the only remaining person alive (Adam Fenix) was to ""Dissapear""

Personly I have a feeling that the regular locust are going to try to team up with the COG in order to survive the Lambert locust attacks. It could be something along the lines of, The locust queen getting in touch with Adam telling him that the locust need their help. And Marcus going on a personal mission to find his father, then being informed that they need to help the locust. Marcus then goes to Hofman and tells him what has to be done, In the end the two species live in peace and out of each others way.
That will most likely not be the way the 3rd game goes, but hey its an idea.

Well, I mostly agree with everything you guys are talking about.
But if the humans became Locust via the whole New Hope experiment, how do you explain all the other critters we fight in the game? The wretches, the tickers, the reavers, the seeders, the brumaks etc etc. I am pretty sure all of these guys, along with the Locust themselves, were there before the humans came to Sera. I am almost positive that something like a Brumak or Reaver could have originated from an experiment on humans... So, the Sires are NOT a missing link between humans and locust, but, possibly a mix of both.

I feel like the story in Gears of War as a franchise is meant to be speculated on. I hope that even in the final game there aren't so many filled in cracks that there is no longer room for individual thought. I loved the story in Gears 1 because it was so briefly glimpsed that it REQUIRED intellectual speculation about what was happening. Why was Marcus in prison? Who are the bad guys here? Questions like these weren't answered and gave us a whole two years to think about. It made you think because there was nothing else to do that was Gears related between games. Instead of just answering a bunch of questions in the simplest way possible, Gears of War continues to tease us and leave out answers. Perhaps it's meant to have us infer the answers instead of outright giving them to us like an intelligent book or film. That would certainly make everything more interesting.

I think your idea of the whole evelution chain from humans - sire's - locust - lambent is a good idea, and i also agree with the Queen not being marcus' mother, i belive she is one of the scientists who worked on the sire's as well, but i think that marcus's father new what they were doing at new hope facility and was trying to stop them, thus his secret lab, and the Queen knowing him. but i think when he tried to stop them, they didnt like that idea, and are still holding him captive. i think rustlung will come in again and marcus and dom will have it, i think maybe at the end of the series one of them will die from it as well
