Louis Armstrong sings 'Super Mario World'
This ditty from ever tuneful YouTube poster brentalfloss has absolutely no right to be this good. But somehow it's one of the best things ever. A pretty convincing riff of Armstrong, blended with 16- bit Nintendo sound bites and clever-funny lyrics combine to create a piece of work that can't fail to pluck the soul strings of gamers with a lust for nostalgia. And in the process it even manages to be a pretty darned respectable parody cover of 'What a Wonderful World' to boot.
Laid-back 'talkthrough' of Sonic the Hedgehog
Ever had the urge to watch someone else play Sonic for 20 minutes while the stoner tones of a late night DJ talks you through the experience and a jazzy afro groove noodles away in the background? You haven't? You've obviously never seen this.
More WTF!?:
• Mario theme played with bottles and RC car
• Wario shakes it on YouTube
• Mario moves to the music
• Mind-blowing Line Rider 'Transcendental' level
Google staffers look silly pretending to play Guitar Hero
Turns out there was a perfectly good explanation as to why these Google employees were pretending to be engaged in a serious Guitar Hero rock out when they are, in fact, just 'playing' the Xbox 360 dashboard. But since when has the internet been interested in a perfectly good explanation? All that achieves is making a funny pic unfunny. So we continue to believe that this is phony corporate cool backfiring and boning itself in the face. And getting unanimously ridiculed for its trouble. Cos that's funny.
New York street art
We can't all live in New York. So we appreciate it when someone sees something as cool as this burst pixel-art hydrant in Manhattan and shares it with the rest of us. Sharing is caring, after all.
