The art of 'untooning' hits the net
The internet is home to many Photoshop ninjas. And the art of 'untooning' made its mark this year, with image manipulation wizard Pixeloo leading the charge. Achieved by apparently slapping some random faces over a 3D render of the Nintendo mascot, Pixeloo created the very striking 'realistic' Mario that you see below. No, it doesn't look anything like Bob Hoskins. Inspired by Pixeloo, another untooner offered his versions of Bowser and Sonic.
Zelda's been captured, so 'Send Link'
Proof that a great gag and a basic grasp of p-shoppery can be a potently funny combination. Turns out this was a rejected image from a CollegeHumor article. It's way too good for the scrap heap.

The Onion News Network introduces Blizzard's World of World of Warcraft expansion pack
God bless The Onion. Without it the internet would officially be 82% less funny. Games and gamers may be blimp-sized targets for cheap laughs, but The Onion's brand of geek ridicule is always clever, painfully insightful and always punches the funny button dead on. This year's Onion humour highlight? Without doubt the ONN's broadcast about Blizzard's World of World of Warcraft expansion pack. We could actually imagine this happening. And we'd probably play it.
