Five reasons you suck if you don't play Okami

This isn't tough love, it's a friggin' INTERVENTION. Don't miss this game

Words: Tyler Nagata, GamesRadar US

3. Okami doesn’t leave you out of the picture
But nothing short of playing Okami will do its visuals justice. It’s one thing for a game to have a unique art style. But once Okami draws you in with its mesmerizing visuals, you’ll find that its original look is complemented nicely by its clever control scheme, which lets you interact with the living paintings that surround you.

As the sun god, Amaterasu, you’ll use the powers of the Celestial Brush to add color to its bleak landscapes. Slashing enemies, drawing sunlight and painting leaves and flowers over empty branches may sound like a cheap gimmick, but it never feels that way in Okami. Instead, playing Okami feels like experiencing art in motion as landscapes burst with vivid colors, thanks to your stylized brush strokes.

Above: Talking seriously about games as art usually makes you sound rather pathetic - unless you’re talking about games like Okami of course

2. Okami doesn’t cut any corners on content
You won’t be able to breeze through Okami over the weekend. In fact, you should expect to spend between 60 to 80 hours finishing this epic adventure. But you shouldn’t expect quests to get tiresome as you near its end.

Okami constantly manages to find a way to keep things fresh. You’re always learning new techniques and every time you think you’ve seen it all, Okami tosses some insanely creative level at you. Boss fights that take place in someone’s stomach and majestic castles that stretch into the sky are just a few examples of the unusual surprises you’ll find during your journey.

Thanks, Gamesradar!
I actually took your advice and played it...
I haven't been this excited about a video game since Monster Hunter.
Complete and total originality.
Everyone should play this game.
In fact, they should have to play it twice, as apology for letting it go completely ignored for 3 years.

I still get a small adrenaline rush every time I see the surge of flowers revitalising the landscape.

@scbyfn4evr

The way you say 'Everyone should have to play it twice as an apology' makes it sound like it's a bad game and they're being forced to play it.

Overrated!!! I played this game, beat it, and was nowhere near enjoying the amount of time spent on it than a "similar" Zelda title. I don't suck, people don't suck for not playing this game. This game just isn't that great. Yes, flashy, beautiful art style...but I could care less about the main character because THERE IS NONE! Amaterasu is, at the end of the day, an F'n dog...who the hell cares? Gameplay got boring, quick...and everytime I defeated a boss I hoped the game would be over...but it just kept on trudging along. This game is not a bad game by any means...but it is severally, and horribly blown out of proportion in how great it is. //end rant

I use to play this game so much that i actually had dreams that I was running around planting flowers on hills and killing monkeys but I wasn't a wolf I was me which was weird cause I have no idea what I was using to kill the monkeys with and I have always felt guilty about the monkeys...poor monkeys.
