I played New SMBW as well and agree with this assessment. It wasn't fun at all for people who grew up taking 2D platforming seriously. I think people who don't care all that much will eat it up, but I couldn't dig it at all. BTW, 10 worlds is correct, but they're naturally divided into 1-1, 1-2 etc.
As for our apparent anti-Nintendo bias, I shall refer you to my three Zelda tattoos, Majora's Mask bust and World of Nintendo sign hanging over my desk.
From every Impression I have read, the people playing NSMBwii seem to be having a blast except Games Radar. And the guy said ten Levels, not ten worlds... that is a huge difference. I think you have been hanging out with your anti Nintendo friends a little to much. If it is anything like the DS game I'm sure it will be great and play it with friends will be even better!
@Brett Elston: Do you think that could be because of the multiplayer? Because, from the videos, it seems like the stages are perfect, and fit right in with the classic 2-D games.
And, while I know that GR isn't anti-Nintendo, you do come off that way. I mean you post anti-Nintendo articles almost weekly now.
8 for heavy rain? wow. im predicting you'll have changed your mind from a full play through to be honest :) it'll get around a 9 or possibly even a 10. I think it'll score a 90+ on metacritic, anyway.
