I'm wary of the all digital age, i like my DVD's, and my CD's. There is something odd about having something and not being able to hold it. That all digital thing bugs me...I like solid things. However the world evolves, even if I don't like it.
I hope this fails HARD, like Virtual Boy hard!
I like being able to trade in games I don't play anymore and it looks like Sony is trying to take it from us. Buy the game and you are stuck with it. And what about renting games? If they do that digitally that is just bullshit!
There will never be a leagal way to put UMD games on the PSP go because people would rip the games to their pspGO and sell them back to the store. This better fail HARD!
it looks cool except one analog nub! shouldnt they have learned from the last time? what if instaed of umd's they made these thing where you buy the game then download it to enternal memory kinda like the ds demo stands at target stores
I dont think it looks as slick and cool as the other PSPs and no second analog is a disapointment. I really like how it got smaller though because i practically never take my PSP anywhere but on planes or road trips. Might be worth getting though I'll have to see where it goes.
(And thanks to TalkRadar 53 I'm encouraged to spell right!)
This...kind of sucks. Y'know they could have at least made it a flip instead of a slide. The onboard memory just BEGS for piracy, kind of like the SD card on the DSi. And the inability to return games that you don't like kind of takes care of the problem of publishers not getting any of the money for used game sales. Hey, Sony CEO himself said--give it to us for free or we'll find a way to steal it. With the PSP so easily modded and the failure of the UMD, Sony would naturally be in damage control mode to limit piracy...even though the onboard memory just--begs for it.
I'll stick to my Madden '09 PSP-2000. The PSP-3000 is just a remodel, so it won't have much of a difference.
The PSP Go looks lame. The analog stick is on the right side of the control pad, and you'll have to squint to use it. And what's special about a sliding screen? Nokia makes cellphones like that! There's no reason for Sony to do the same!
I agree with SunshineHobo..owning something but not being able to touch it? Doesn't feel right...And as I think of it, I understand why Sony didn't add a second analog because of the need for compatibility with old PSP games, but...why didn't they have a second analog in the first place? Playing a third person game with a single analog is frickin' irritating..I don't want to stop to look around! And I won't go so far as to say that the Go is totally ugly, but I will say that it's horribly trendy. Oooh, congratulations Sony, you successfully made a slider PSP..the new trend of technology..if it slides, it's apparently cool. Hooray for you guys, you made your new tech look like the majority of new cell phones that come out...I'll stick with my slim PSP, thanks..
I admit, I thought exactly the same things as you guys when I saw the pictures, but like I said in the article, when you see it being held in the video, it looks superb and suddenly makes sense. And that GBA Micro reference still stands - the screen on that is the clearest, brightest screen I've ever seen, and I still play mine. Mario vs Donkey Kong FTW ;)
The Whole reason for making a second gen is cause the first gen sucked and is not current. Until you have one In Your Hand, you shouldnt 110% say it's shit. plus it's natural to freak out on Brand new ideas kept in Sony's Vault. anyone rememebr the first reaction to touch pads/screens? "Waht if your ahnds are sticky, then it's gana be on your phone!" Solution: Why would you touch shit with unclean sticky hands? were just going in a large circle conversation...damn you technology!
Hi Justin and Folks: I still have one more question:
do you think that the downloadable games for the PSP remain code-free...? If yes, am I still able to purchase (officially) US-Games with my Pal-PSP Go?
I think this will become a major issue since sony has always been rather merciless concerning this topic (see lik-sang)
I'm jiggy w/ my PSP now. Yeah, it is HELL to hold for long periods of time but I'm a mark for PHYSICAL content. I HATE downloaded content because I'm sure we ALL know that downloads can go to crap and you just wasted, what? 99 cents to $15? No. Give us UMD or something swell.
