I wouldn't have a problem with this article if it weren't for the fact: YOU GUYS WERE THE ONE'S CRYING FOR A GALAXY 2! You just said that Nintendo needs a successor to SMG if they want to keep up with Microsoft. You've got no one to blame for this but yourselves.

"If one announcement would be enough to keep hardcore Nintendo fans happy, it would be a proper new Mario game. Super Mario Universe? While N64 and Gamecube only have one 'proper' Mario game to their names, there's no reason Wii can't have another one."

Does nobody know what they want anymore?...nope.

So I am wondering if the same person complaining about this had issues with Epic making Gears of War 2. This it what cracks me up about journalists like this They will complain if Nintendo keeps a certain formula for one of its games like Galaxy 2 yet doesn't call out other companies like Epic or Bungie for doing the exact same thing. And yet Nintendo announced a new metroid that is unlike any other metroid I have ever seen. And yet you complain about Nintendo doing a direct sequel to one of the best Mario games out there.

I'm dissapointed with Nintendo. Showing off a new Super Mario Galaxy when the 1st came out just 2 years ago? Oh, and a co-op rehash if New Super mario Bros? *shakes head and sighs*
Atleast that new Metroid game looks cool, to bad it doesn't come out till 2010. :P

Everything you say is opinion. Opinion I don't agree with. I know you like a lot of games on other systems that are the same as the first in pretty much every way. And the new nintendo you are talking about is releasing good games. So if Metroid: Other M and the Mario games are bad to you, your opinion scares me.

I totally agree. Every console from n64 days till today had just one "true" mario game. Now there's a sequel just 2 years after the original? wtf? And Mario Galaxy was supposed to be unique, you know? We don't want to play in space forever, that melody is gone, man! They are just recycling ideas, just like they are doing with the new DS Zelda. Nintendo has been going down the drain really fast since last year, they need to come up with a better system soon.

About the motion sensing stuff, I think it's awesome to have 2 different ways to play. It's obvious motion-sensing has some advantages in some games. Just as true as there are advantages in other games by playing with a regular controller.

The "revolution" is not about changing the way you play games, it's about adding new ways to play. I'm totally comfortable with that. You can make great games with either control. Sweet. Let's hope nintendo remembers that in their next endeavor

Look this article may have been a little extreme but I do feel bad for Wii owners.

You guys are excited about 2 good titles being announced?

Wii: Metroid: M, Mario Galaxy 2. Here ill throw in Red Steel 2.

360: Halo:Reach, Forza 3, Alan Wake,Crackdown 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Project Natal.

PS3: GOW 3, the last guardian, FFXIV, MGS 5, Uncharted 2, Agent, MAG, Mod Nation Racers, and a new Ratchet and Clank.

PS360: Alpha Protocal, Assassains Creed 2, Battle Feild Bad Company 2, Brutal Legend, Crysis 2, Dantes Inferno, Dead Rising 2, DJ Hero, Just Cause 2, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, MODERN WARFARE 2, Red Dead Redemption and The Sabateur.

Suddenly Looks like harcore nintendo fans got fucked doesnt it. Hope those three games can hold you through out the year.

Sorry for the double post but here is the issue to comparin Mario Galaxy 2 to something like Gears 2 or Modern Warfare 2. Mario games are about fun not really the story. Games like gears tell a story and a sequel builds on that story so the characters and world in the game grow. Mario games have always been distinctly different from their previose installments and this one simply doesnt do that. Also those other 2 games have fantastic online multiplayer which means a sequal can expand on that.

About comparing Super Mario Galaxy 2 to Gears of War 2, the reason they were worried is because Mario games like that come out with wide time gaps always with new features, engines, and generally 1 per platform, they are simply stating that they are worried that Nintendo is intrested into making main Mario games into major cash cows. DO YOU WANT NINTENDO TO TAKE MARIO DOWN THE ACTIVISION PATH!?!?!?!

That was a much more eloquent phrasing of the primitive rage noises I've been making for the past couple of days...something like, "ARRGH RAHAAR VITALITY WHAT GRUUUUGH MARIO GALAXY 2 FAAAARGH!" You are absolutely right and your phrasing is perfect. Good show.

SMG fooled the games journalism world wth it's one trick pony gameplay gimmick(woo spheres!)and now we get more but a bit more difficult? Great.

More Zelda details, a Kid Icarus, Starfox,F-Zero or, hell, even Kirby game were more what we wanted and IF there was to be a new mainline Mario didn't we want it to move along from what SMG did?

Team Ninja's 2.5D Metriod M is a way more appealing game(looks awesome-my favourite "surprise" of the whole cackfest of E3)for anyone with a hardcore heart anyway and more along those lines plus Ninty RELEASING FATAL FRAME 4 in the west might effin help a bit!!!

Seriously how long have they been working on TP2(SMG2, TP2 is there a pattern?)? The original was ready well before Wii launch as really it was a GC game so wtf have they been doing?

BTW, being English gives you EVERY rignt to be miserable and pessimistic-esp as a journalist of any kind.

At the end of the first page i was thinking what was the start of the second page. Nintendo really only seems to be giving the hardcore juuuuuuusssssst enough to barely hold their interest. So they can half heartily hold both sides of the gamers. Sad. And as far as what RonnyLive19881 said about. "Did you not hear Miyamoto say it is going to be a HARDER version of Galaxy to please core fans?" First of how many times has the Wii demons claimed how something will "satisfy both hardcore and casual audiences." It frankly doesn't really matter what they say anymore because they don't have any credibility anymore. And secondly and more importantly this article wasn't complaining about how this new galaxy wont be "hard" enough. Its not about how difficult this game is at all. The main focus of this article was to show how unoriginal the whole of Nintendo has become.

anyone whos against a new mario galaxy is a fag. really, your all bitching about a game thts gonna be really fun, and nintendo will mix things up and add a buncha new levels. by the way, they are making a new kirby for wii, i forgot if its coming next year or this year

i was always pro nintendo, nut screwthem, i want the new zelda, and the new metroidlooks awesome, but i'm buying an xbox for l4d, theyshould make more of those games for the wii
