Maybe I'm the minority here, but I could care less if Nintendo released several mario games using the same engine, so long as they switched with each new console. There have always been complaints that Nintendo relies to much on re-releasing the same games, but other companies just release some really similar games that aren't near the same quality, and just because different shooters, racers, ect. on other consoles have different names doesn't mean they aren't incredibly similar. The point is that although I completely agree with the resistance to Nintendo's current direction, I'll take similar mario sequels over Imagine Party Babyz any day.
The problem with Gamesradar is that its a hardcore gamers site. Nintendo have moved away from constantly competing for the best graphics and most realism. GET OVER IT ALREADY!
With the superb graphics and realism available on 360 and PS3 why keep berating Nintendo about their change of direction?
this game will be a ton of fun and only a major jack a** will avoid it. it's the first sequel since the nes right? Im 32 yrs old and have owned every nintendo system . this game will be worth the 50 bucks
what I was hoping for was a new Star Fox. And I don't know about the rest of you guys, but Nintendo and it's crappy casual games are slowly killing my Nintendo fandom.
Wow this arctile is the most conjecture filed, contrived and biased diatribe of baseless bullcrap I have ever read. It's pretty low how some have sunk just to twist things, put a practically baseless spin on things just to bash Nintendo. This irrational and contrived b.s. is amazing laughable. I'd expect this crap from Anti-Nintedo Trolls but from a "professional" game news site is just really sad.
You are worst then the worst of the fanboys I have met. Nintendo announced 3 AAA games (Metroid, Galaxy, mario bros 2) for the wii in one conference and yet you manage to bitch and act like they failed. Your whole "whats the difference" argument can be made about any sequel ever made, but it is only done when only one video is shown by the fucking worst of fanboys the "editor" David Houghton should never been able to have anything to do with official gaming. There is a huge thread about how ridiculous this is and a boycott is starting I hope you fanboys are happy.
Tell me one way shovelware being on a system changes the quality of the good games? Judge a console on it's amount of good games not what percentage of its games are good that actually makes no sense at all.
I think this one deserves a pass, because it's not TRYING to be a revolution. It's Galaxy 2, effectively a stand-alone level pack for the original, with a bunch of new content. If this were the huge Mario title for Wii 2, then get pissed. As for now? It's just a great addition to a great time.
if anybody wanted to be a hardcore gamer with hardcore games y would they buy the wii...the wii is for little kids, families, and stupid people who are so obsessed with super smash bros. that they waste money just to play one game...nobody get pissed cause u know its true
I don't understand the comparison to the iPod. Most people who buy iPods go on to buy other iPods and other Apple hardware. Apple fans are notoriously brand-loyal.
Furthermore, the iPod is synonymous with portable MP3 players, whereas the Wii is not synonymous with gaming.
getting a wii was one of the biggest mistakes i ever made. The only reason i got one was for zelda twilight, metroid prime 3, super mario galaxy and super smash bros brawl. zelda was good and super mario galaxy was awesome, but metroid prime 3 and SSB: brawl were just clones of the originals with a little extra content and did not have any pull to keep me coming back at all. I have literally not bought any other games and am not interested in any at all. ive played and completed every single metroid game to date and to for me not to get excited about metroid: another M , breaks my heart!
well come on, what do we expect, it's a sequel. It's obviously gonna look the same but I bet there are alot of new features and a different storyline. This game hasn't even come out yet so we don't know all about it yet.
Everyone leave David alone, just because he thinks nintendo failed doesn't mean anyone else does, several problems arise in this article, the major impression being that its quite bias, saying that nintendo announced nothing, 3 major games which picked up my attention were: Metroid Other M, New Super Mario and of course Super Mario Galaxy 2. The last being the most lackluster after discovering move information but huge none the less, the only real problem is that it is SMG just different maps, but SMG was such a great game that even being recycled will still probably make it better then Sunshine.
PS: Lol at "Amazing" Project Natal, 1:1 controls on the Sony are amazing, Microsoft just looked like it threw alot of money at "the next wii" idea and came out with this, plus pretending theres a stirring wheel in your hands looks tiring, not to mention silly. (Lets just hope Dad can pull off changing that tire like a pro)
Plus, we got a new Mario Bros. (yeah, not the most creative title). And though Nintendo didn't do a very good job in promoting it, I'm sure there are going to be some crazy levels. And now I can finally play cooperatively, which I always thought would be a cool addition to the mario bros. series. Now you don't have to just sit by and watch your friend play. I have a feeling it's going to be another one of those titles you can fall back on in between larger games.
Though they don't do the best job of promoting there stuff, I honestly can't wait to play a lot of the games that are being released on their system.
