Crackdown generals guide - the Volk

We've compromised the Volk's security and have all the juicy intel

Golyak

Golyak is a lot easier to take on then some of his henchmen, surprisingly. Your commander-in-chief (or rather the disembodied dramatic voice that follows you around everywhere you go) advises you that it would be best to swim around to the back of the second rig and go in from behind. We think he’s lying. Around the back there’s another entrance up the building, but if you can’t get the hang of jumping precisely or haven’t leveled up your jumping skill enough, then you will find it tough to progress here, as the walkway up has fallen away, leaving you to jump from beam to beam. Falling down is obviously extremely frustrating, which is why we advise making a forced entry from the front of the structure.

So jump onto the pipe that leads to the oil shells, and target the explosives on the overhead gantries above you to take out the men sniping at you. Jump up to the first shell, and head left, shooting the couple of men that stand in your way. Make your way around the rig to the other side of it, where there will be multicolored pipes that lead to the second shell. Jump up on to the gantry here and head left and jump to the next level. Keep running left and jumping up the levels until you get to the gantry with two walkways leading up. Get onto the main platform of the shell and look for any buildings with reachable ledges that will lead up to the helicopter pad. Shoot at anyone with distance with your rocket launcher, and always fire your machine gun at any explosives that are in front of you. It’s better to take them out yourself from distance rather than be taken out by them up close.

Once you’re on the helicopter pad and you’ve regained your shields and taken out any enemies that need taking out, jump up the grey pipes to the highest point of the shell where Golyak will be waiting for you. While standing on the pipes, jump back and fire a rocket at him, using the left trigger to aim straight and true. This blows up any explosives on the roof, allowing you to face him one on one, for once. Once you’ve got to this point, it should be no trouble to take him out. Now all you need to do is take out the rest of the Volk.

Taking out the Volk

After you’ve finished with Golyak, leap off the side of the oil shell into the water, saving you the trouble of working your way back through the Volk gang. Head towards the pipe you ran in on, and head to the right of it when you hit the shore, where there will be a battered car waiting to be stolen. Head toward the red marker on the map.

Approach this location from the south, as the gang members will be on the steps of the hall-like building. Keep your distance and fire rockets at bunches of them, and use machine gun fire if any of them manage to make it closer to you. Use the squared concrete decorations as cover should your shields run out. Once the enemy has been thinned-out, it’s time to take out the stragglers on the steps again. Easy peasy.
