Crackdown generals guide - Shai-Gen

The final gang is primed for a taste of explosive justice

Words: GamesRadar US

Oakley

This is hairy. You’ve got to be sharp taking out this general, as his unlimited reinforcements arrive thick and fast.

By now, you should have quite the armory, including cluster bomb grenades. These, combined with your ever-expanding exploding skill, are deadly. It makes sense to have a rocket launcher as your secondary weapon here as well. Sprint along to the dome and head around the back of it. You want the alarm to be triggered as late as possible before the Shai-Gen gangs start coming en masse. Head toward the dome in the centre of the outer dome, and take a left once you’re in. Do not have your rocket launcher out at this point – you’re as likely to do as much damage to yourself as you are the enemy. Eventually you’ll see some stairs with a red carpet on them to your right. Go up these and you’ll find yourself inside the glass part of the dome.

This is where things start to get a little tight. As soon as you step out into it, look right and fire rockets at the henchmen on the balconies. Now turn around and do it to your left, as well as hurling the odd cluster grenade at groups of henchmen. Jump up onto that raised balcony and follow it round taking out all the guards that are there along the way. Wait for some reinforcements to come and get rid of them quickly with a cluster grenade. Now it’s time to turn your attention to Oakley.

Rockets won’t do particularly too much damage to him, but the cluster grenades will. Use the central raised grey circular building you came out of as cover as you launch grenade after grenade at him. Occasionally, you might even feel daring and jump onto it and fire from there, but you’re a sitting duck for any reinforcements that come along.

Agents with agility skill at its maximum might be able to reach up there, but it’s tricky, and continually trying to jump up and failing will only give the Shai-Gen more time to gang up and take you out.

Rzeznik

There are two options to get into the complex. Firstly, you can swim around the back and jump up and into the bottom floor of the dome, but this problematic for a couple of reasons. Firstly, you’ll be at the furthest possible point away from Rzneznik, which leads onto the second reason, which is that you’ll have to fight your way through his entire private army. This would be difficult enough if you were raining down explosions from above, but you’ll have to work your way up the entire building, which means not being able to see properly what’s to either side of the walkways up to the next levels, as well as being horribly exposed to sniping, rockets and grenades. And we don’t like that. No sir!

The second – and best – option is to drive up to and through one of the three barrier doors that are the main entrances to the building. As you might’ve guessed, the Agency Cab would be best for this kind of job. If you haven’t got the driving skill yet (and by now you really should have), you can use explosives to blow the doors off.

Once inside here, head left or right – it doesn’t really matter – and drive over any Shai-Gen members that are unfortunate enough to be in the way.

Eventually, you’ll find the entrance inside the dome. Head inside, but watch out for the three or four gang members that are round the corner. Use a cluster bomb to sort them out. With them neutralized, run into the dome and head for the nearest walkway heading upwards as soon as possible.

Finding Rzeznik here is the problem at first, but you’ll soon realize (and we’ve told you now, anyway) that you have to keep going up the walkways until you’ve reached the top floor. The walkways up will change, and have more of an office look to them. You’re closing in on Rzeznik. To get up this far you’ll need to be patient with your shields, and not be scared to occasionally huddle in a garage nearby if the enemy is becoming momentarily too much. Don’t linger for too long though, because as per usual the whole world will come down on top of you.

On the final steps, make sure you have all shields, and run up the final stairs into Rzeznik’s office. He’ll have a single henchman with him to your right, and you can either choose to take out the henchmen as quickly as possible or just throw as many explosives as you have at Rzeznik. You have to be quick though – every gang member in the entire dome is coming for some of your Agency blood.
