A Nintendo fan's wet dream

Pixel-perfect recreations of Samus and Link make us happy

Words: Brett Elston, GamesRadar US

Metroid - Metroid

The only thing more obvious than making Samus was making an actual Metroid. Then we looked at the sprite and realized how impractical it was for building. Many of the pixels don't connect to anything, they're just floating in space. Seeing as our Metroid must exist in three dimensional space, it can't have pieces floating with no anchor.

Our solution? Use clear blocks to connect the floating pieces and use grey blocks where the white ones should have gone. Yeah, it means the Metroid has grey fangs instead of white, but eh, gotta make sacrifices somewhere. Also, there's a mistake in this particular Metroid. Bonus points if you can spot it.
