Doom comic

What the hell?

An incredibly graphic and somewhat disturbing comic book tie-in produced in 1996 for mega-popular demon-shooter, Doom. Surely it would be easy to transfer the intense shooting and satisfying gore directly into comic book form, right?

WTF?

Even panned by the most devout Doomphiles, this 16-page comic followed the misadventures of the Doom marine as he blasted his way through Hell’s minions while uttering incredibly uncomfortable lines like “You are huge! That means you have huge guts! Rip and tear!” and “You’re stupid! And you’re gonna be stupid and dead! Dance!” while clutching the spine of a zombie. Either this is a brilliant satire on America’s fascination with braindead action heroes, or it was written by a 12 year-old. Judging by that picture of the marine clutching the BFG and weeping, it could go either way.
