they said they are going to be putting the update for the dashboard on to newly released game discs for download...

I think I would have been just as excited about a new dashboard with out the avatars. I picked up a controller in eighty-six and never put it down. I'm as hardcore a gamer as it comes. Dressing and redressing a doll never was really that interesting to begin with. I don't spend all that much time in the dashboard to begin with so why would I start know because there is a avatar in my likeness. I don't think so. In the overall scheme of hardcore gaming what does the avatar really bring to the table? I'm know for a fact that at first it my be cool and new but I'm losing interest after a few short weeks.

DAMNIT!!!!!! i hated this when they spoke about it and i hate it now!!!
The new dashboard is just the PS3 dropdown menue on it's side and Avatars are just and obvious piece of crap!!!
And what about us who spent money on themes and gamerpics?!?!

yea those avatars are just plain retarded.
if dress up dolls are what your into than yea good for you, congrats, but i shouldnt have to deal with customizing some ugly looking gimmick. i should get a dragon! with a normal head!
