A few serious questions I want answers to then some pretty pointless comments:
Q: So if the hard drive is removable, does that mean you can swap out with your old 160GB PS3 hard drive? And I'm assuming if so, and if signed on to your account on the new slim, there would be no problem keeping all your old trophies and all of the downloaded software?
Q: Yesterday I didn't realize that in looking at the bottoms the slim is technically wider. It's kind of like they smooshed it like a big piece of dough, but it magically weighs less. Odd.
Q: Is the quieter aspect really that substantial? Maybe there's just a lot of dust in your guys' PS3s. I've never even heard my PS3 make a single noise outside of removing the disc and beeping when turned on/off.
Q: When will the PS2 be compatible? Please. I want to get rid of the excess hardware! Yeah I already know no one will answer that one.
I'm so sick of them not including proper cables. Sad to say Microsoft goes the extra yard in this area.
JJB, I agree with the Spiderman font comment. I don't really like being reminded of a relatively weak comic movie everytime I see my PS3.
I agree garnsr, although I don't think the touch sensitive was much of a selling point. Most people don't even know about it until they turn it on by accident the first time.
Hell yeah cart00n, that and a rerelease of the BSG series. That stupid box and the lack of some content turned me off.
D Man, I think Sony remembered that no one ever uses the power switch in the back. People could just unplug it if they're that serious about power saving.
i'm getting a second ps3 for sure. BC is always a downer, but by now, most everyone is gotten over it. I was big on BC, spend 450 on getting a software compatible, and ended up not using any ps2 games for the LOOONGEST while. Hell, Oblivion alone is a time consumer. And that game is old as fuck.
As for not having a power off thingy... that sucks, i have everything in my room, so all those standby leds light up the room even when the lights are out.
I think the old ps3 looked better to be honest. And why is Sony constantly making their systems slimmer? Every single one either has a slimmer version, or one coming out.
its a total gimmick, its not even that much smaller than the original. sony is just trying to make people think they created something new just like the psp go
The Sony Bravia integration existed with the previous PS3s as well, this isn't new, it was one of the first things that we tried out at Radio Shack when we got it in, and it worked seamlessly. When you turn on the PS3, it turns the television on automatically, and switches to HDMI input if it's not already on it. When you turn the PS3 off, it turns the tv off as well.
Will the games still not be region locked on the PS3 slim? I know Nintendo started to region lock games on the DSi, and its the only thing I need to know before I make it a must buy.
Tales of Vesperia PS3 doesn't look like its getting an NA release so I plan on possibly importing it.
im glad theres a new version i actually an original 60GB with the emotion engine...sadly after fixing 3 times because of that red blinking light of death the blu ray drive's ribbon cable isnt staying in the port i cant even play my downloaded games like pinball and ragdoll kungfu
