personally I like rpgs, but some of the stuff is annoying, mainly the combat system. Not because it makes it harder, but because it takes forever. I guess it gives the player a better chance at killing the person they are fighting if you think about it because that way you normally die slower. You guys can knock on RPGS all you want and some I agree completely on, but there are certain classics that I cannot say anything bad about: FINAL FANTASY VII, Chrono Cross, Suikoden 1 and 2, Quest 64, Banjo Kazooie, Goemon (64?), Dark Cloud, and Oblivion.
Luck makes crafting easier, for example in morrowind for alchamy and enchanting if you had high luck you were more likely to be sucessful in your potion making and enchanting. Still... I never actually bothered to boost it up.
I love RPG's... but I have to agree alot of those things you pointed out are the things that get my goat about them, so good vid.
I like turn-based cuz it means I can get up and go to the bathroom, order food or get another beer while the rest of the party beats on the enemy for a few slow seconds.
"you cant hate on mass effect, at least its levle up perks actualy did something, like save wrex"
True but they could have had a bit more in the way of content, main quest isn't quite big enough in my opinion and there arent any long side quests to follow... still, gives you great replayability value and I supose it's slight linearity and emphasis on combat will appeal to the FPS action junkies, while it's got enough content to satisfy sandbox gamers like me to compares everything to Morrowind in terms of size... and everything fails.
haha, gamesradar cant hate rpgs, they fluffed it. all in all i think there were more like 85. lol
i like the reading part of RPGs, and turn-based combat is the best there is, not the pseudo-mmo-crap from FFXII, but from FFX (not the time-restricted turn-based one from earlier FFs either, that sucks too.)
i love what theyve done with crisis core though.
the spheregrid was king, allowing for deeper customisation of skills than before.
grinding is such a bitch, innit?
Captcha: Goldstein savings (a little anti-semetic there, 'dar?)
Before I was blind, but now I see.....being a notorious RPG glutton myself I appreciate that someone else shares my disdain for some of the utterly cliche shenanigans that admittedly snake me into buying the "Next Big Fantastical Japanese/J.R.R. Tolkien Mind Orgasm". I don't exactly know why, but watching the geek in the robe shoot a teeny Roman Candle while feebly shouting, "Magiiiic Misslllle!" was madly hysterical to me.
This whole Week of Hate was just as great as last year's.
