The Evil Within's first DLC, The Assignment, is finally out

Now that you've had a few months to mull over The Evil Within's freaky tale of trauma and terror, it's about time to see it from another perspective. The first piece of Season Pass DLC is out now across all platforms (European PSN release forthcoming), following Juli Kidman as she explores the asylum hellscape.

You can catch an early half hour (give or take a few minutes of cowering behind shrubbery) of The Assignment in this Bethesda play-through. Don't expect Juli to go in all lock, stock, and barrel - she actually seems to spend quite a bit of time without any weapons at all. Hence all the cowering behind shrubbery.

Developer Tango Gameworks has said to expect a more 'dark, lonely, and claustrophobic' experience from Kidman's two-part journey. It's set to conclude in The Consequence later this year, but don't expect every twist from the main campaign to be neatly tied up by the end.

On the other hand, you can expect to do some horrible things to people as The Keeper in the third and final part of the season pass. See? All kinds of mysterious characters are getting their due in The Evil Within's DLC campaign, even the kind who lurch around with oversized meat tenderizers and wear lockboxes on their heads.
