Evil Dead sequels may tie old and new storylines together

With Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake showing at this year’s WonderCon festival, it was only going to be a matter of time before questions were once more aimed at the filmmakers regarding the issue of sequels.

Sam Raimi has already revealed that he’s working on an idea for a follow-up to Army Of Darkness , and now Alvarez has confirmed that he will be making a sequel to his own movie, allowing the old and new storylines to exist alongside each other.

However, what really got the crowd excited was the revelation that those two films will lead into a final, crossover movie in which the two timelines collide in spectacular fashion.

As Bruce Campbell helpfully weighed in, “seven is a nice number”, confirming that we could have three more Evil Dead movies on our hands before we know it. Just like buses, aren’t they...

Meanwhile, Evil Dead will open in the UK on 5 April 2013.
