Dread Central breaks the story and star confirms it on Twitter
There have been rumours about a fourth Evil Dead movie for a while now, with Sam Raimi himself suggesting he’d like to return to the franchise. And then, yesterday, Dread Central broke the news: “ Dread Central has it on good authority from a very reliable source that long-time Sam Raimi editor Bob Murawski ( Army of Darkness , Spider-Man , Drag Me To Hell ) has packed up and headed out to Detroit to begin work on the long talked about fourth entry into the Evil Dead franchise, which will be ‘a small indie thing like the first two.’”
Was this just rumour, or did the Dread Central story hold water? Well, this being the internet age, fans immediately started asking the man who should know on his Twitter feed: star Bruce “Ash” Campbell. Today he Tweeted : “Believe in the remake, dawg! The project is real. In the works. Cool as hell. Scary as hell.”
So there you have it. Ash is back. Groovy.
Although, despite what some other sites have been suggesting, none of this info actually 100% confirms Raimi’s directing yet.
