Eva Longoria heads south

Nope, Eva Longoria will not be swapping the bitchy, manicured climes of Wisteria Lane for the, er, bitchy, manicured climes of the Dallas movie.

But the Texas-born actress is going back to her roots for the comedy Deep In The Heart Of Texas. And there will be bitchiness, as she’s playing a divalicious Beverly Hills type who gets relocated to San Antonio to run the new Latin division of an ad agency. It’s fish out of water time as she’s lost touch with her Mexican background, speaks no Spanish and has to try and win over her new boss. Bad news? He might be from out of state, but he’s perfectly settled, speaks Spanish like a native and is a solid part of the community.

Touchstone pictures grabbed Pam Buchignati and Lynnette Ramirez's script pitch for Longoria to star in this summer, during her break from Desperate Housewives. Who wants to guess that lurve will blossom between Longoria’s character and her boss. Yeah, us too…
