Ethereal Lost in Shadow trailer suggests a stylish, clever puzzle game

I know, I know - it's hard to get pumped about a Wii-exclusive puzzle game. But based on the brief hands-on I've had, the Ico-like dreamscape and cool 2D/3D environments could add up to something special. This latest trailer, which arrives just days after news the game is pushed back into January, illustrates just why I'm holding out hope. I particularly love the "3D" parts, where your shadow breaks free of the 2D plane and can, for as long as a meter holds out, explore the real world.

That music seals the deal for me, echoing the theme from Ico. Will Lost in Shadow live up the PS2 classic? Too early to say, and that's a damn lofty goal to reach, but at the very least Hudson's efforts look like nothing else on the system, and there's at least one interesting game to look forward to at the beginning of the year.

I'd kinda been watching this but now the music has made this a for sure buy. Just when I thought I could finish fleshing out my library of old games, but now the new stuff is pushing me back.

I think this is gonna end up being highly praised. Probably a new Okami, but I'll be in on the ground floor!

delayed..............?!.........Ah well, at least this way, it won't have to compete with Metroid: Other M, and with Epic Mickey release dates
