Elebits

Essentially, that's all you do in the game - turn the world upside down as you look for more and more electric Elebits. To make the search more interesting, there are two-to-three step puzzles to solve with some of the newly charged items. For example, a shredder, once activated, can start chewing up specific items lying around the room. Find the right thing, grab it with the gun and hover it on over to the shredder and watch even more Elebits spew forth.

Different Elebits are worth different amounts but their state of mind also contributes to their wattage worth. Nab 'em while they're sleeping and you bag a lot more points than if they're running in fear. And, to mix it up even more, some Elebits will try to knock you down or alert the other critters in the area to your presence.

Everything works well for the most part, though more than once we came to a point where there were no cues as to what to do next. Supposedly there's one Elebit hiding in the room somewhere but, short of picking up every chair, table and lawnmower in the house and tossing it across the yard, we couldn't find it. Then again, this is a glorified scavenger's hunt, so this type of fruitless exploration is expected.

Every few levels (about 30 in all) you'll come across a boss character that just doesn't want to give up the free life. We had to zap some sense into a teleporting, duplicating poltergeist that threw up protective shields around all its replicants. Sure, the house was absolutely trashed by the time we took it down, but that's the last time it'll try to shirk its responsibility to the human race.
