Eduardo Rodriguez directing Fragile

Let’s get one thing clear from the start: no, Eduardo Rodriguez is not related to Planet Terror’s Robert. But he is connected – he directed Curandero, a Mexican horror written and produced by RR.

But after doing some uncredited re-directing on The Messengers, Eduardo is getting his directing teeth into zombie films thanks to Rogue Pictures.

The company has signed him to direct Fragile, based on Stephano Raffaele’s graphic novel. It’s the tale of an airborne virus that has turned most of us humans into feral, flesh-craving zomboids. But there’s a hope for humanity, as a recently undead soldier teams up with a female zombie and an unaffected teenager to discover a cure, before his former military unit can hunt him down and finish him off.

"Fragile gives me the opportunity to explore the horror we're used to in the genre but set in a unique post-apocalyptic world where zombies aren't the monsters anymore," Rodriguez blabbed to Variety. Jeff Dixon has adapted the script, though the film will have to wait, as Rodriguez is already busy with Open Grave, which was supposed to start filming this summer, but has yet to actually kick off.
