E3 2010: Killzone 3 trailer features jetpacks, snow, broken necks

Sony has released the first Killzone 3 gameplay trailer. It's all in-game footage. No target footage. The focus of the vid is Killzone 3's fourth mission, which is called 'Frozen Shores'. The snowy landscape instantly makes it look a whole lot different to Killzone 2.

The new up-close combat moves can also be seen in action, along with some jetpack-based blasty-shooty. There's no indication that Helghast helmets can still be shot off with comedic regularity, but I'm hoping this particular feature will make a return. It was probably my favourite thing about Killzone 2.

He's nothing more than a Troll... trying to stir up up sh*t. LOL!!!

Good god. SilentPenguin shut up and everyone else. The XBox is superior in sales, always has been. The new XBox being released soon is exactly like a PS3 with a larger hard drive. No games are original nowadays, everything has been done whether its jetpacks, melee kills, or snow. Uncharted 2 has the best snow effects and details. Not my opinion, just facts.

@TheSilentPenguin an MGS thats pretty much a spin-off?I could understand if it was exclusive but its not. CoD will never be the same now that IW is pretty much gone. I guess you havent read the E3 on Microsoft where pretty much all the 360 owners complained about the weak showing they had. And like a said....360 had an entire year before ps3 was released and its still not far ahead sales.
  • TheSilentPenguin - June 14, 2010 9:42 p.m.

@Gex4212 the PS3 is dead because the xbox was already killing the PS3 in sales and now with the new Xbox 360's slim design and MGS coming to the xbox, PS3 users are going to be switching. Not to mention all the CoD add-ons will be early on the Xbox 360 until 2013. In other words, its a better version of the PS3 now. ( in my and millions of other people's opinion )

@TheSilentPenguin the PS3 is dead because Microsoft finally decided to have a built in wifi, and whisper quiet.... features that are already on the PS3? 250GB HDD? So what.... for about the half cost of a Microsoft HDD...I can buy a 1TB HDD for my PS3 and just slide it in? Wheres ur justification ? U say PS3 is dead but its doing great in Sales... Especially for a system that came a year after the 360. Im not saying Xbox sucks cuz I own all 3 current gen systems.

@skynetiscoming I couldn't agree more... From my understanding, the controls are something GG addressed in KZ3... and with any luck; they'll make the button layout fully customizable this time around.
  • skynetiscoming - June 14, 2010 7:38 p.m.

@wwfmankind Yeah it did, but it still felt weird having to hold down both triggers to aim and say in cover. All they need to fix the controls is make the cover toggle instead of hold.

lol PS3 is DEAD, New xbox 360 will be small, slim, built in wi-fi, whisper quiet, Kinect built in, 250GB, and no more RROD, plus MGS is going to the Xbox 360 :)

@ElAmmoBandito You may already know this, but the "Alternate 2" setting on the controls fixes a lot of those issues. When I stumbled across it, it made a world of difference!! LOL!!!
  • ElAmmoBandito - June 14, 2010 5:29 p.m.

I'll be picking this up.Hopefully I don't have to aim with R3 this time LOL.

whats with sequels showcasing snow levels all the time?
  • loonyman978 - June 14, 2010 4:58 p.m.

So what if its similar to a very good game. There are many differences between them, making them both great games.
  • wwfmankind - June 14, 2010 4:36 p.m.

Ok, why should I "shut up"... I also stated "My Opinion".... am I not entitled as well??
  • TheSilentPenguin - June 14, 2010 3:42 p.m.

@wwfmankind dude, unless you're some annoying little boy who can't read, shut up. I said thats my opinion, and wether you know it or not, people are entitled to their opinions. I hate dissing fellow Xbox 360 users about PS3 games but honestly, I hate it when people don't read the entire f*cking comment.

@ TheSilentPenguin I dunno about Killzone being similar to Halo. Halo, thanks to the energy shields, allows you to run and gun while in Killzone 2 you need to use what cover you have. (BTW cool name)
  • SonicX_89 - June 14, 2010 3:10 p.m.

I recently got a PS3 Slim. I also picked up Killzone 2 and I'm enjoying it. Now that I can play it, Killzone 3 is definitely on my radar.
  • wwfmankind - June 14, 2010 2:38 p.m.

...could it not be, Halo is similar to Killzone??? Just because Halo went public before Killzone does not mean it was in development first. And more importantly... who the Hell cares!?!?! From a personal standpoint, I can't wait to play Killzone... Halo... whatever, I'll leave that one to the people who like it.
  • TheSilentPenguin - June 14, 2010 2:08 p.m.

im not a frikin fanboy, I like some PS3 games, ModNation Racers is awesome and Ratchet and Clank is awesome too, Killzone in my opinion ( not because of the stuff I said up top ) is that Killzone is just a little much like Halo, well minus the snow and lack of super-armor (lol) anyway, im not saying PS3 sucks, im just saying Killzone seems a little too similar to me.
  • mattiebo - June 14, 2010 2:04 p.m.

@TheSilentPenguin Killzone 3 has been in development since Killzone 2 was released. Of course, Guerrilla went into the future to see what Bungie were developing. :| Also, just because something is in Halo doesn't mean it belongs to them, that's a classic idiot fanboy's response.
