Dwayne Johnson is an NFL agent in new Ballers trailer

The second trailer for HBO’s Ballers has appeared online, starring Dwayne Johnson as a former NFL star “concentrating on the other side of the ball” as the new face of a sports management company. His main talent post-retirement? “Monetizing my friendships”.

Coming off like a cross between Any Given Sunday and Jerry Maguire, the new show looks set to explore the risks of mixing business and personal relationships, while also mining the usual sports movie tropes of drug abuse, injury management and greed.

Co-starring Jazmyn Simon, Donovan W. Carter and Troy Garity, Ballers will make its debut on HBO on 21 July at 10pm. A UK air date has yet to be confirmed.
