Duke Nukem Forever gameplay video shows urination, a deformed penis, group sex, eyeball removal

I'm excited about Duke Nukem Forever. Very, very excited. I, you see, am that guy who never gave up. After five years I never gave up. After ten years I never gave up. Even after 3D Realms tanked and floated away from the project, I never gave up, just like some raving Canute-style madman. The moral of the story? Blinkered stubbornness with a total disregard for reality pays, kids.

And as reward, I now have this DNF gameplay vid, from a recent on-stage demo. There's a fair bit of ebullient evangelising from Randy 'most enthusiastic man in games' Pitchford, and it takes a while for the action to hot up, but when it does you'll get to see a storming remake of the classic football field boss from Duke Nukem 3D. Amongst other, less savoury things. Clicken sie!

Personally, I'm very happy with the way this is looking right now. It seems to fulfill the promise of the (many) trailers for previous versions of DNF, evolving character and environmental interactions hugely while maintaining the balls-out old-school joys that made Duke great in the first place. And that one-liner after the whiteboard bit bodes very well for what I hope will be a script full of knowing comedy.

I'll have more for you on Duke Nukem Forever soon, but while you wait for that, tell me what you think. Are you as pumped as me? Have you held out hope since DN3D? Or do you think Duke's just a tired old anachronism we should leave in the retirement home with Gex and Bubsy?

It's been a long while since I have bought a first person shooter, not counting Fallout 3, the last true shooter was Doom 3. Bring it on Duke.

All the elements that made Duke Nukem one the most memorable ever seem to pretty much intact looking forward to it but then again i've been looking forward to this the 90s nothing new for me there

Bollox. This game makes me feel OLD. I was officially a YOUNG man when it was announced and now am officially MIDDLE AGED. Two of my kids weren't born(one is twelve and one eight)while the other hadn't started Play School and is now doing her GCSEs! Waiting for DNF has aged me terribly-and the worst thing from the look of the video is it doesn't control better than the last game did! It was good then but now? Sure, it's a lot prettier than I'd expect from Gearbox(or expected for DNF itself TBH) and it looks like 3DR actually had a great engine working when they croaked but , IDK if it's just me, it really looks like it's clunky as hell compared to modern shooters to control. Obviously, as it's supposed to be Duke himself controlling it during twin powered fellatio it could be intentionally, erm, jerky, at points? Anyway, looks good but it's stolen too much of my life and I'm concerned the controls have lagged while the rest as leapt forwards. Except Duke's moral outlook, natch.

If this actually lasts for an entire 10 hours, I'm buying three copies of the game. To those of you who say the Duke is outdated, don't tell me the whiteboard and the field goal isn't one of the most awesome things you've seen this generation.

Hmm, this video was apparently shot in the Netherlands. The guy who announces Pitchford used to be a journalist for my favorite Dutch gaming magazine and now hosts their gaming events and gaming tv show. And Pitchford addresses the people of Amsterdam, of course.

@Imgema " what's the point of the American flag waving in the title?" You clearly don't understand Duke Nukem. Yes, i am also hyped. I mean, Duke Nukem Forever, WTF. How can someone NOT be hyped? BTW, this video shows how much FPP games suck on the consoles. You see this lame dude, unable to draw a simplistick DICK on a whiteboard and then killing himself with his own weapons. It's just pathetic.

    So glad Duke is back.

I'm hoping they get this game right with the swearing, gore, boobs, and all around manliness Duke Nukem is.

This game looks to be worth the wait, by far. Just the old football boss alone looked like it'd live up to the hype. DO WANT THAT AS A DEMO ON XBL!!

looks great and fun but what's the point of the American flag waving in the title?

Double nostalgia action, first a Bubsy reference (got the first game for my 10th birthday I believe) and memories of Duke Nukem from back in the day. This looks like it has captured the Duke Nukem feel perfectly whilst looking extremely playable. The scripting looks awesome and the line at the end was brilliant. Love the whole breaking the 4th wall thing.

OMG yes this is a game that is just so outlandish with a anything goes attitude. Kicking a field goal with the cyloids eye ball was awesome. The game looks great. And though its a small thing being able to mess with everything around is just cool. So what if I want to turn on all the faucets or break boxes let me do it. Oh im almost out of bubblegum I hope this game comes out soon.
