It looks like our love for martial arts and at least marginal tolerance for Sudoku will meet and make love for the first time with the announcement of Eidos Interactive’s latest DS and PSP action puzzler, Zendoku.

Set against a whimsical eastern background, Zendoku blends puzzle action with Sudoku gameplay. While details on the gameplay mechanics are sparse so far, it looks like a Puzzle Fighter -esque affair involving matching up mah-jong like tiles as you match wits with your opponent.

Zendoku boasts a variety of features and wireless play, including attack or defend against a challenger and race against the clock modes.

We’re looking forward to learning more about how Eidos plans to blend a pen and paper word game puzzle with martial arts action.
