Jammin' new Tony Hawk DS screens
[DS] Cartoony racer hits up San Fran and other cities
Words: Steve Bailey, GamesMaster UK
Here's one of our favorite skate tricks - showing off a handful of new shots from Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam for DS. Check out two of them down below, and hit up the images tab above for more.
Due for Wii and GBA, too, Downhill Jam takes the series back to the very first Tony Hawk game, where the titular Downhill Jam had skaters speeding through a level that was as much a race course as a combo playground. This is the first ever Hawk game centered on racing as much as landing skillful tricks, and is looking enjoyably fresh for it.
Above: Around 10 pro skaters will be available, with the option of crafting your own character.
Stages offer steep slopes set in real-world locations such as Edinburgh, San Francisco and even the Lost City of the Incas. Wireless multiplayer will be on offer featuring a variety of modes and, as you can see above, it's rendered with the same sharp and colorful cel-shading that served Tony Hawk's Sk8land so well on DS.
Downhill Jam is due out this fall.
