The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

Think once, think twice, think Link

We've all been clamoring for more Zelda ever since completing Twilight Princess (who'd have thought Midna was such a hottie, eh?). And with Phantom Hourglass coming into view, our next adventuring fix is only just around the corner.

While details on the single-player game are still thin on the ground (we know it's a sequel to Wind Waker, and there's an enormous "master dungeon" you'll need to leave and re-enter as the game progresses, as you won't be able to finish it in one go), more info has been released about the multiplayer aspect of the game.

It'll be playable online over the Wi-Fi connection, and takes the form of a one-on-one "capture the flag"-type game. One player controls Link, who needs to grab Triforce pieces and ferry them to a safe area, while the other controls three Darknuts, who are moved by drawing a line on the touch screen to set a route for them to follow. The Darknut player can see Link at all times, while the Link player will only see his opponents when he stumbles across them - but, of course, Link's the nimbler character as he doesn't need a "track" drawn for him. It sounds like a great little game, and is certainly different from the Four Swords-style co-operative action some people were expecting. Let's hope that the single-player game is as epically brilliant as expected, too.
